Should be good at all of the Big3. The UL credits would be nice for COSC and Excelsior, and they should even be useful at TESU if you're doing Liberal Studies or some other degree where the language credits would count as AOS.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

Is there some kind of practice test to gauge how I would do so I don’t waste money on it?

There are sample questions and much more, https://www.languagetesting.com/oral-pro...erview-opi click examinee handbook and familiarization manual. Same for all other exam types.

It's the single cheapest way to get college credit ESPECIALLY upper level - but it's unrealistic to learn a language from scratch in a month. But, if you're fluent, it's low hanging fruit!!

You should be able to take in any language offered that you know. There is no reason you would not be able to take it in your mother language if it is one of the available language tests - plus German if you're comfortable with it.

I did score 3 credits on the intermediary level when I took this a couple of years ago on the listening comprehension in German. It is not easy, and if you are a beginner you won't score very high. Another member on this forum scored all of the ACTFL credits and combined CLEP with it and TESU accepted all of the credits; so if you are fluent in a language other than English it's a great opportunity to score a bunch of credits at TESU.

As for English, you can transfer English ACTFL credits into West Virginia University's Regents Bachelor of Arts degree. So if you are fluent in English and another language your degree could be completed very quickly using this option at WVU for 72 credits. Then add CLEP for another 14 credits.

Your only obligation would be to complete the 24 credits at any West Virginia school with 6 UL at WVU.

I was looking at taking the French test. With the written part, do you have to type and essay or is it grammar questions? I have not typed in French in years.

Not sure exactly. I think you have to go to a designated writing center.
