modern states courses and Saylor tests or study.com?

I am trying to do this the easiest and fastest way possible.... but money isn't growing on trees either. Someone mentioned doing Modern States to learn the materials and then doing the cheap Saylor or OD finals, but I've had someone recommend biting the bullet and doing study dot com, and just spending the money and trying to get 2 in a month.  I have a lot of kids and they are ALWAYS around, lol. Easy and fast is really important but with a lot of kids, so is money...  has anyone found that they breeze through study.com courses because of how they're laid out? I keep hearing the Saylor courses are more tedious and monotonous so I would love to avoid that aspect but the cost of the tests draws me back.  Aiming for TESU BSBA in marketing.  Started with CSM Learn today!

Excellent choice with CSM. You can take as much or as little time as you need for that course and it's pretty cheap. I also recommend checking out the free courses from Sophia, the institutes and possibly TEEX:

Since you mentioned modernstates and money being a factor, I recommend you try modernstates before study.com. You can use modernstates to study for your CLEPs, use some other free/cheap materials to supplement your studies then get a free voucher for a CLEP from modernstates to take the Clep for free. If you fail it or at any point decide it's not for you, you can always switch to study.com, straighterline or any other provider without being out much, if any, money. 

You can also always try Saylor and OD for free. They're both completely free except for the test proctor fees so if at any point you decide you don't like those platforms, you can always switch.

I personally would do Modern States and get as many CLEP exams as possible.

I'd also check out WGU as a degree, rather than TESU - they have an actual BS in Marketing Management as opposed to just a BSBA with a concentration in Marketing at TESU. Lot's more marketing and less GE - that's my preference.

I'd like to add to this WGU idea - since you have 6 children to support odds are favorable that you may be eligible for a Pell Grant, you may want to apply to WGU (free to apply) and fill out the FAFSA (a Pell could cover almost all costs - of this is the best school choice for this route) - you really have nothing to lose, might be the ultimate fast and low cost option

I actually know for a fact that I won't qualify for financial aid. 5 years ago I filled out the FAFSA and even though I actually needed it because my husband had a job loss and we lost one of children which devastated us financially as well as emotionally, they went based on his previous years income which was half what it is now and we didn't qualify and the process for appeal was ridiculous and I just kind of gave up.  Money is mostly an issue because my husband doesn't see the value in me having a degree, so I'm trying to do AS MUCH as I can as inexpensively as I can, using the money I earn selling random stuff I don't need online and then I will start doing the more costly options in a few months. Once I'm more than halfway there and he sees how little it cost, he will be more supportive i'm sure.

I do plan on doing cleps but they're more difficult due to childcare needs so I want to do as much directly from home... so money is an issue and its not if that makes sense... its still lowest on my priority list, but if I can do easy AND fast AND cheap, its more appealing.

I understand that leaving home to take the test is a struggle, but even if you do SDC, you'll still have to manage 2+ hours of proctored testing per course. So, it's likely you'll still need some sort of childcare. At least with the CLEP, you will have left the house and know that you won't be interrupted.

I would say that it is MUCH harder to leave home to go take tests (it's normally going to add at least an hour to your time, and for me it was a LOT more than that).  I loved being able to do the at-home exams, which I did at 10pm after both my kids and husband were in bed.  I'm a night owl, so it worked great for me.  For someone who is an early riser, I think it would be more difficult to pull off since kids are not so accommodating about what time they get up in the morning in my book.

I would also probably try to make a deal with your husband - give me a set time each day to spend doing schoolwork, even if it's an hour at 8pm after the kids go to bed or something along those lines, and maybe 3 hours on Saturday mornings while he takes the kids to the park - or something like that - and offer him something in return that you know is important to him.  My husband did not think it was important for me to get a degree (it really wasn't), BUT he realized that it was important to me and so helped me achieve that goal.  I had to agree NOT to bug him about getting a degree himself.
