I'll send an email to TESU because I don't want people reading this forum to be misinformed.

I would say that random guesses have had a better success rate than answers from TESU

Responsible admissions personnel will ask an academic department or the registrar when they aren't sure about something. TESU's phone reps are not responsible.

TESU Admissions/advising are particularly bad at answering questions, I would not trust a word they say about almost anything - and certainly not something like this. We KNOW FOR A FACT that what they are telling you is incorrect.

The really strange part was that two of my master's classes tranferred in as master's credits even though I was only pursuing a bachelors degree. They also transferred as Ed. Leadership credits rather than simple EDU credits. Again, that was kind of strange.
So, I think that TESU mostly accepts graduate credits, however, it is an inconsistent transfer situation.

Thanks. I spoke to a couple of people in Admissions and they all said the same thing so they must be getting that message from somewhere (even if they are clueless). It's not unexpected that it's treated inconsistently. However, my understanding is that you have to apply and then pay for a class to enroll before they even look at your plan and opine. Is that correct? That would leave you out about $1,200?
How long ago was it they accepted those credits for you?

I wouldn't say it's inconsistent. Whenever TESU sees "professional development," they assume they aren't credit-bearing courses.

You get two evaluations after you apply. You don't need to enroll to get an evaluation.

The reason for this was not that they didn't accept your Grad-level credits - all of your credits transferred in (I know this because they were given a course equivalency number, which means they showed up on your transcript, probably as "other credit"). The reason they all didn't come into the degree was because EDU courses are considered Free Electives for the BSBA program (and most other ones as well). So, once your 6cr of Free Electives was filled, there was nowhere to put these EDU courses.
The Econ courses would apply to both Gen Ed and the BSBA MAN AOS, so those would have been used to the max in your degree.

From the registrar:
Quote:Thomas Edison State University will accept a maximum of 30 SH of credit from an accredited graduate program toward the requirements of a baccalaureate or associate degree. However, please be advised that many graduate programs will not accept graduate credits toward their graduate degrees if those credits were applied to an undergraduate degree. [P]If you expect to apply the graduate credits toward a graduate degree, you should consult the graduate school you plan to attend before applying these credits toward your Thomas Edison State University degree.
