It has nothing to do with the course and is just for the university's self evaluation purposes. I find it outrageous that they dock your grade if you don't take it. I admit I got angry at having to take it, and put minimal effort into it, just checking an answer if it was immediately obvious, and totally guessing if it wasn't. All I cared about was not having them dock points and spending the minimum time.

I saw it as a free 5% towards my grade (5% less I have to worry about for a good grade) not as docking my grade for not taking it. It's mandatory either way, so I'm not sure why it would make someone angry. They could have just made it required without giving you anything for doing it (like they do in the GS version), but I assume the point in making it worth a small part of your grade is to encourage people to take it seriously rather than just rush through it and pick random stuff.

It has nothing to do with my education so it doesn't belong in the course. Since your 90% in the class becomes an 85% if you refuse to take it, I call it docking your grade. It doesn't incentivise you to take it seriously as the 5% is just a participation grade, how you do is irrelevant. BTW, It was only 2% for me. I guess they still weren't getting enough people to take it and made the penalty harsher. Heck, I might have actually tried if they had just ASKED me to take it instead of doing this.
P.S. I know most people would just go along without much of a care. I guess this is just my pet peeve.

I finally have an official number of sources and my mentor/Professor said 15. I did not have that many for Chap 2 at it did lower my grade several % points. So you could be very far ahead if you gathered your research now and compiled your sources into MLA format ahead of time. This was not very clear to me until now and this should help you plan.
"You should have at least fifteen for the final project and I hope the literature review will better reflect that."

Do all sources have to be scholarly sources for this type of course? I think you meant APA format?

For the most part yes but let’s say you have a news article. Just use a proper citation and if it’s relevant it will most likely be accepted.

I am now that the ETS Proficiency Test and Forum posting of how it goes. This does not seem to be difficult and I will report how it goes here later.

Today I took the ETS Proficiency Profile worth 2% of my final grade. This was not difficult but required more concentration than I was expecting and my area was a little distracting. I recommend a very quiet area when taking the test.

I'm now working on Chap 3 of the capstone. Little over 50% finished and next week will take me to the finalizing part where Module 4 should be done in the draft. I finish 4 classes this week so it will be nice to only be working on TESU classes next week.

Do the assignments have to be a certain length compared to the final project?
Any tips on research?
I am thinking it's probably best to compile sources for each topic/sub-question so that it's easier to look back at it once you start to write.
