It's 27 quizzes and apparently offered for credit. It has no course designation or number, which is strange. I'm wondering if anyone has taken and finished this course and how it would transfer into TESU?
Why not ASK - Study.com Support Team directly?

I completed this course. I really enjoyed the course and it had several crossovers with other courses like Digital Marketing and Advanced Technical Writing. After I completed the course, I received an email from Study.com stating I could transfer it to ACE but it was not listed on ACE when I tried to transfer it. I contacted Study.com and they informed me it was approved by NCCRS. I paid to transfer it to TESU via the Excelsior credit banking service. My TESU evaluation has been completed and I was not given credit for the course at TESU credit evaluation. It did not even show up in my "other courses" section of the eval. By the time the transfer came through I had already completed my 117 credits towards my degree. I will report back if anything changes.
Quote:NCCRS has a much longer process than ACE, so it just may be that TESU hasn't received it yet, or processed it. From what I've seen from other threads, it's at least a 2-week timeframe before NCCRS even sends the course out.
NCCRS doesn't send out transcripts. The transcript is supposed to come directly from the source. I'm not even sure if TESU will accept it off a credit bank transcript. I wouldn't be surprised if TESU never awarded credit because they never received a transcript from Study.com.

The history and systems thread has a similar conversation going as well. I had the same concerns about the credit banking transcript, but apparently it is slightly different, it is more like an Study.com transcript but with EC's logo on it as well. It seems like a dumb partnership with EC so that Study.com doesn't have to handle the processing and EC gets to collect a lot of fees on top and the learners get greatly inconvenienced.

I agree. Not sure why they are doing this, they should be able to set up a system to get the transcript out for free, like SL, ESPECIALLY for a partner school! I mean, what is the point of being a partner if you have to have this convoluted plan that makes absolutely no sense? Really nuts.

I thought TESU had said they would accept all NCCRS-approved credits for transfer. If that's so, then it should be accepted unless there's a breakdown in the communication process.

I have official word from TESU now!! The following note was just posted to the bottom of my Academic Evaluation:
"Your Excelsior College transcript lists credits which appear to be transfer credit Study.Com. TESU requires original transcripts from all institutions attended in order for credit to be awarded. Please have an official transcript from the original source of credit sent to the Office of the Registrar, Thomas Edison State University, 111 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08608-1176 so that it may be reviewed to determine if credit can be awarded. ======"
I contacted Study.com to let them know TESU would not accept the EC credit bank transcript. Hopefully, this will get straightened out and Study.com will be able to send over an NCCRS transcript directly so that no one else has to waste the $40 on an EC transcript.

How come Davar, a hole-in-the-wall operation, is capable of issuing transcripts, but Study.com isn't? Saylor issued transcripts for their NCCRS courses, and they're a non-profit that doesn't charge anything. I'm not surprised by TESU's response. The only indirect transcripts they accept are ACE transcripts. If NCCRS issued transcripts, TESU would likely accept them, but since they don't, they need to come from the source. I don't know what Study.com was thinking.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all your comments and feedback. We confirmed with NCCRS that this is the correct transcript process, but we totally understand this is not ideal, and your frustration is valid. We are still actively working with TESU to create a better pathway for NCCRS transcript requests that would not require you to go through Excelsior. In the meantime, if you need to request an NCCRS transcript, please contact support@study.com. We'll keep you updated as we improve our processes.
Thank you all so much,
The Study.com Team

It appears the issue remains that TESU will not accept this transcript. so anyone who attends TESU should not take any Nccrs courses through Study.com as it would be a waist of money?

Or Study.com does whatever they were doing prior to this goofy Excelsior thing? I mean, this is totally new, isn't it? And no one else is doing it this way that I can see.
If Davar can figure this out, and do it for free, then so can Study.com. There has GOT to be a simple way for them to do this, otherwise they need to stop offering these courses until they can figure out what they're doing over there. This is crazy!
And the fact that they are blaming the process, and saying they are trying to work it out with TESU, rather than just fixing the problem immediately (going back to what they were doing before) - I expect better out of them. In the past, they have come clean and told us what the issue was, and how they were addressing it. Now it seems like they're trying to pass the buck.
