Hey guys,

can I have someone give my road map one Final look over?
I just need someone with more experienced eyes to see if these courses are going to be TESU approved when I send them in for Eval.
and possibly just make sure the courses won't duplicate.
I'm looking to blow through these SL courses between now and late June to early July at the latest

Are you trying to avoid tests? There are several options for fulfilling Computer Concepts and Applications/Introduction to Computers/CIS that are a lot easier than C++.

I am willing to take tests, I thought SL would be faster than testing, with my luck I am wrong about this, I have a hard deadline of less than a year

If you do Study.com Intro to Computing, then definitely do Study.com Info Sys & Computer Applications. There's, like, a 50% overlap between the two, yet TESU counts them as two different courses!

Also, I notice a lot of Straighterline courses. If you apply for Study.com's Guardian Scholarship, you'll get 6 classes free (one must be personal finance, the other 5 are free choice...google this forum for more info & application link). Personally, I love Study.com because a) if you work to get as close to 100% on the quizzes (and you get 3 tries on each, with highest score counting...each one is only 5 questions, so it's not a huge effort) then you'll only need a 55 on the final to pass (if there's also a project, you'll only need 55 on both final & project, IIRC); and b) you don't have to schedule your tests in advance...just start it as soon as you're ready. If you want to hammer out a bunch of credits from the comfort of your home on a whim, this is an efficient way.

It depends on the individual. I am, personally, much faster at testing. I study for a few hours and take a test soon after. When I took SL courses, I think it took me a few days, cumulatively, to finish my courses. However, I wasn't able to work on the courses on consecutive days, so I ended up taking a month to finish two courses. Study.com courses take way too much time. I can't sit at a computer for 8 hours a day trying to knock out one of their courses quickly.

Can I ask what sources you use? Or is it instacert only? Or do you use a com o of the ones listed in your sig? I may sub a couple SL courses for clep tests to see how I feel about them

There's a workaround! When you go to take the lesson quiz, click on Worksheet, right click and open in tab Print Answers and voila. I've been burning through pretty quick and the answers I haven't known, I repeat in my head a few times like I would a flashcard. Some of the classes have placement exams as well, I've been able to test out of nearly half of any class I've taken the placement exam on.

I don't know who or what thread that I first saw these tricks on but they are awesome hacks to speed through the courses, while learning enough to pass the finals.

I know I can't do DSST tests anymore because apparently the test center near me lost the DANTES certification, which I didn't know was possible

First, you need to make sure that you sign up for Study.com, and use the code to become an affiliate member at TESU - you not only get a discount on the residency waiver (huge savings of $700 now) but you also get to not take the Cornerstone (savings of $300). Of course, you need to graduate by next year in order for this to work out. Not sure of the date, so check on that.

SL's Intro to Comm (in Gen Ed's) is the course that's Public Speaking. So you have to delete that one from Gen Ed's.

If you get the Study.com scholarship, you will have to take Personal Finance, which will go into Free Electives. But, one of the TEEX courses can move up to Gen Ed Electives, so you're fine there.

In the Core, you have "Accounting II (principles of Managerial Accounting)," and then say that you're taking it at SL. If you do use SL, make sure you take Accounting II, as Prin of Managerial Accounting is a different course.

In the Area of Study, you have HRM as ACC-201, which is incorrect. You can get ACC-201 if you take SL's Financial Accounting. Or HRM will come in as MAN-331.

Also, don't forget to delete the "Need" number when you've completed a course (like ALEKS College Algebra). I thought you had way too many courses, but it turns out you didn't delete courses as you went, so you were doubling up.

After deleting the Intro to Comm, moving TEEX CS for Business Prof to Gen Ed's, and deleting the Cornerstone, you'll need 1 3cr course in Gen Ed Electives.

I couldn't even get through the personal finance course, and there was no placement test for it. I said, "Screw this," and decided to pay for the rest of my credits.
