Hello,
I have a couple of questions regarding business tests.
First, I am trying to decide between taking the Principles of Management CLEP or the Intro to Computing (CLEP or DSST). From your experience, which one is easier?
Second, how difficult is the Principles of Supervision DSST?
Third, what order do you recommend taking the Business tests in? I need to take Intro to Business DSST, Effective Supervision DSST, Principles of Marketing CLEP, and either Principles of Management or the Intro to Computing. I also need to take Intro to Sociology, and Macro and Micro economics. Any suggestions about the order?
Thanks!

That depends upon your experience. Have you worked in business and/or management? That helps with the CLEP. If you're starting out from scratch and have some experience with computers then probably Intro to Computing. You'll still need to study for it.

Very similar to CLEP Management. If you are ready to take one you should do fine with the other. Check out free-clep-prep.com for study resources.

Difficult to say because I usually recommend that you go with whatever subject is strongest for you fist. Although I've completed all of these myself, if it were me in your situation I do something like this:
1. Intro to Computing
2. Sociology
3. Marketing
4. Intro to Business
5. Management
6. Supervision
7. Macroeconomics
8. Microeconomics
Some of these you can take through Straighterline if you don't feel comfortable doing the exam.

DSST Supervision right after Clep Management is super easy. Then probably Marketing. Sociology is somewhat related to those tests so maybe take it before or after. I haven't taken the others. Can you take the Intro Computing DSST? I took it because I heard it's easier than the Clep--it was pretty easy.

Have you taken economics (macro or micro, yet?) or have any experience with them? If yes, Marketing should be simple after you study for Management, if you can devote a couple hours of study to the IC cards. I got a respectable score with what amounted to only a couple hours of study of IC flash cards, but had completed Mgmt, and both Macro- and Microeconomics.
As IrishJohn said, your personal strengths will dictate which exams will be easiest with minimal study, though. Some have struggled with subjects I managed with almost zero study, while they aced things that caused me to struggle.

No, I haven't taken economics yet, but I enjoy do history and economics as a side interest. So I will start with those. Is DSST Intro to Business a good starting point for the business tests? Or from what I'm reading, it seems that many have taken Marketing or Management first.

Ditto IrishJohn's comment on checking out the freeclepprep web site. Justin lists the different tests in order of difficulty, and provides an order in which to take them. While this is his opinion, my experience is that it is pretty accurate.

You could start with Intro to Business if you like, but since it contains subject material from other exams like Management and Marketing that's why I personally would suggest taking those first. After studying for those other exams and passing them, Intro to Business should be a breeze.

For the economics tests, I recall several people mentioning that an economics book by Gregory Mankiw was helpful. Have any of you heard about it or used it?

I used Principles of Microeconomics (6th ed) by Mankiw for the course, and it was a great text that could be read through quickly.
