Free Ethics Course
#91
Random reading late night - came across this thread. Took the exam cold and passed 74%. Sharing because if I had not passed, adding that it's 3am, it would have made for a double negative Wink

Off to sleep - thanks for the initial tip on the exam!

I took advantage of this course too - it was recommended to me by an IC member as a practice test for the Business Ethics DSST. I ultimately did not need to take that particular DSST exam, but did pass the Free Course and had the credits placed in my ACE account. Any point in submitting it to EC? Anyone at EC receive credit for this?

Thanks!

Just wanted to thank the original poster of this thread. I took the test cold with no study material review and passed. The credits now show on my ACE transcript. It took them over a week to post so I thought maybe I had done something wrong but I guess it was just the holidays. Smile

I took this for the second time today. The first time I took it pretty late at night and got a 68% (gah!). Then the second time I took my time and read more carefully and got a 76% Big Grin. Didn't bother studying the actual material - that was more effort than I thought it was worth, considering I don't actually need the credits.

sanantone Wrote:TESC evaluated this course as PHI-379, so this can work as UL credit for the liberal studies and humanities majors.

If you're not majoring in business, you can always use the Business Ethics and Society DSST for the ethics requirement. You can also use it for the ethics requirement if you already have Business in Society/International Business completed with something else. There is also the Ethics in America CLEP. Otherwise, there are plenty of options for that last credit if you really want to use the free ethics course.

Sanantone, I can't find PHI-379 on the TESC website. What class is that?

Excellent...thank you. That will not duplicate my previous coursework!

I went ahead and took the exam. I passed and just submitted the request to ACE for credit.

I really appreciate this info. I'm down to my last few classes and this is credit that would fit my plan nicely. Thank you, everyone!

Excelsior would not accept the 2 LL credits towards my Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts towards the Ethics requirement. Your mileage may vary. FYI, about 50% of the test is on Quizlet.
