I'm new, there is so much info...where do I start??
#1
Hello All,

I have been looking over this site and there is so much great information! I have to take 7 (3 credit each) DANTES/CLEP tests to complete my degree requirements. These are mostly elective requirements with some humanities and one test needed for science (thinking of "heres to your health"). Any suggestions on where to begin, where to look for study material, how much time I am looking at for 7 tests, any info will be appreciated.

I saw the post asking people to post which tests they used only IC to study for. That was interesting.

Any tips on which courses I should take, how long should I study for each. Smile

[COLOR="#000080"]Welcome to our classroom!

Perhaps it may help if we knew what type of degree you are seeking and from what school?

Welcome aboard!

Make sure that your school will count Here's to Your Health toward that science requirement (rather than, say, as an 'applied health studies' course – with which, as a surgical assistant, you might be full up! – before investing much time or money in it.

It's a bit hard to answer your question because we don't know what duplicative credit you might hold, and what degree your seeking where and your school's relevant CLEP/DSST policies. For instance, the CLEP in Analyzing and Interpreting Literature is very popular here and often yields 6 sh of credit. But your school might bump it down to 3, or might not accept it. Or you might already have taken a course on interpreting literature. Generally, you can't "double dip" in this situation and get the credit for one plus the credit for the other. Though if the course was 3 sh and your school would give the CLEP 6 sh, you would gain the 3 sh difference by taking the exam. See? So many fine points.

Everyone is right, we need more details. Can you include a link to your current college's CLEP policy? If you can't find it, just name the school and someone here can help you locate it.

Thanks for the answers...I guess more details would have been better. I am going for my BS in healthcare admin through University of Phoenix. I already have completed the Core classes (upper division) toward the degree. I mainly need electives, so I basically need to hear from some pros like you guys on which tests can get me through the "fastest". I have checked with the counselor and here's to your health is considered part of my science credits -intro to world religions was also one he recommended.
