How long does it take for the clep credit to show on your transcripts?

bobaloo000 Wrote:True but I have discovered that after two weeks if I open a trouble ticket via their Help function for enrolled students the credit will be posted within 7 days. Might be worth a try as it only takes a few minutes to submit the ticket. Just make sure you assign the ticket to the Office of Academic Advisement.

Hi,

Just wanted to thank you for the advice; I opened a ticket and am awaiting the outcome. If it should speed up processing by any amount of time I am happy.

Thanks again!

EDIT: submitted the ticket on April 21st and my evaluation was updated today April 26th! WoooHooo!

I would have thought these things would be instant since it's computer based. I'm just a little concerned that something went wrong.

It usually takes 3/4 days. Maybe give customer service a call to verify your test did go through and there wasn't some type of technical issue. This would make me nervous too!

Update - Looks like we might have some new employees working in the transcript area. My evaluation updated today, yes on a weekend, for transcripts received to date (4/27 & 5/13). Yeah buddy!!!

Maybe they decided it was time for heads to roll in that department?

I have a CLEP transcript received by TESC on April 1st that has still not been added to my transcript.

I sent them a ticket on Tuesday asking them to review the class code they are planning to give me for my ECE exam they are giving EDU-121 and Excelsior recommends 6 Upper level EDU-310. Below is the answer I received today.

Linda,

EDU-121 is listed as a planned course in Free Electives on your evaluation. We received the transcript from Excelsior on 5/3 and it is currently taking approximately 7 weeks for the credits to be reviewed and applied to your degree.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Of course you will. This is their strange cover my *ss politicking (sp?). As long as those outstanding credits were added to your graduation form let the graduation specialist take care of the internal issues. Shoot her an email don't want to post her name on this list. (Check the email you will receive acknowledging receipt of your graduation application). Heck, I would just forward the email you received to her attention and let them iron it out. I have to tell you I was very impressed with that department when I graduated in March. Everything was handled to perfection.

Unfortunately TESC acknowledging another parties coding is another story. That we can do nothing about. They did give me UL (300) credit for a dantes 200 course though. I'm guessing it all evens out somewhere...who knows or understands these things. I've come to the conclustion that the education industry is quite similar to medicine...reminds me of the mafia.Wink

Good luck!!!

Question: I've gotten 5 emails from TESC saying my Clep and DSST transcripts have been received. Do they send an email every time they receive a SINGLE transcript? Will they not put the credits on my evaluation till all the transcripts for every test I've taken are in? (Btw, I've applied but not enrolled yet.)

Some schools automatically post CLEP credits to the student's record. Others post only if the student specifically requests it.

My experience with TESC before I enrolled was similar - They acknowledged receipt of my test scores, however, they were not applied immediately. There was usually a four to six weeks lag between additions to my evaluation; it all depended on when I took the tests. If I remember right, they only add to your evaluation three times after the initial evaluation (it's been a year, so that may have changed and I may be incorrect).
However, patience is a virtue with regards to this. The great thing is, you won't have to pay to have these scores applied. I took several Cleps & DSSTs before I applied and I had to pay for transcripts.
After acceptance, I loved the fact that every time I took a test the score was sent directly to TESC. Yippee!!!
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies!

Here's what I did: requested transcripts sent from Clep (I'd finished all my Cleps) and applied to TESC right after that. My 3 DSSTs I'd taken within the last 6 months (and put TESC as the recipient when I took them) so I didn't order transcripts for those. And so far, all I've gotten from TESC are emails saying my transcripts have been received (3 DSST and 2 Clep, so all my DSSTs are there), no academic evaluation yet. I can't figure out why my 3 DSSTs (which I took in November) should be there and only 2 Cleps because I finished all my Cleps by November 2. Is the best solution now to just enroll? Will it speed up the process?
