My very first CLEP coming up..
Posted by: keandre - 08-25-2006, 02:03 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,
I'm scheduled to take my first CLEP this coming Monday for macroeconomics. I'm so scared!Everyone whose posts I have read all seem so confident and seasoned at this stuff. How do you know if you are ready?I have studied for 2 weeks when time permits, and,so far,I "know" about 55% of the material on instantcert.I read the REA for macro I and am about to read part II. I'm scared my nerves will "make" me flunk my test.Any of you pros out there have advice for a rookie? About taking the first exam AND taking macro CLEP. I'm so scared I'll flip out if I fail.I'm pretty much an A student in college and HATE just passing an exam.Any calculations on the macro clep?Any peace of mind anyone can offer me to think about just in case I fail it so I won;t flip out, start crying and break stuff? Thanks all!And good luck!

CLEP Spanish - Any ideas for study?
Posted by: DanK - 08-24-2006, 07:58 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

I'm planning on taking CLEP Spanish, but I will need to study. I'm not a native speaker and haven't taken Spanish classes lately; just high school Spanish and some language tapes many years ago. Does anybody have any study method ane/or resource tips?

I have the REA Clep Spanish, but I'm not comfortable with it. I'm considering Sparknotes 101: Spanish - it may be just what I need before the REA book.

On a side not, the testing center where I took my other CLEP tests informed me that many of the people taking the CLEP Spanish are native Spanish speakers - not encouraging!

Any advice is appreciated!

Help getting back on the proverbial horse
Posted by: PriTyan - 08-24-2006, 02:25 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Since I failed my OB ECE Exam yesterday, I need to get back on the horse and pass a few tests.

I have to amass 6 lower level credits for graduation and need suggestions on which of the following tests you consider the easiest. Other suggestions would also be welcomed.

Intro to Business - DANTES
Principles of Finance - DANTES
Principles of Marketing - CLEP
Fundamental of Counseling - DANTES
Principles of Accounting - CLEP

  heres my question
Posted by: avi - 08-24-2006, 01:08 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (9)

Since you are all college educated students and fine examples of knowlegable people, please can you explain a paradox to me. Why the hell do F-16s have to escort a passenger plane to a destination when there is a scare on board. If there is a terrorist on board will the fighter jets shoot the plane down? Are people going to jump from the passenger plane to the fighter jet? Are the fighter jet pilots just sent up there to keep the scared people company? Do they attach missles to the fighter jets when they go up to escort the passenger planer. If anyone of you highly educated college students can answer my question, I would be greatly appreciative. I am especially waiting for your reply snazzzzz, but would really appreciate any help.

  What are Cert. exams?
Posted by: MagicATC - 08-24-2006, 12:41 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

I was looking at my student credit hour layout from Excelsior and was wondering what cert. exams are? They awarded credit from the following list: Resident, Transfer, Service School, MOS, CLEP, DSST,ECE and Cert. exams. Also what about Service School? I have credit from my MOS for military sooooooo what else could that be?
Any ideas?Cool

  Analyzing & Interpreting Literature

I am getting ready to take the A&I Exam in a couple of weeks and wanted to get some opinions. I have done numerous searches through pasts threads, and read a lot of good feedback. I have a question for those of you who have taken the exam. Should I purchase the REA book for A&I to prepare?

Most of what I have read in past threads say to google search literary terms, and take some practice exams. I have the CLEP Prep Guide, and just wanted to find out if a combination of individual research (Google, Wikipedia, etc.) and the CLEP Prep Guide would be sufficient. I will order the REA Book if it will be beneficial.

Thanks in advance...
