  Question about TESC credits
Posted by: robertturner - 07-25-2024, 03:09 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

Hello,
I'm happy when joining this forum. I have a question. Do TESC allow you to splip credits? For example, I need only 4 more credits in Humanities, and I take English Lit for 7 credits.
Will they accept the situation most beneficial to me and use 3 credits for Humanities and tack the other 3 onto Free Electives?

Any advice? Thanks in advance!

AFFORDABLE ONLINE MBA OR MASTER DEGREE
Posted by: predetaron - 07-25-2024, 02:57 AM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (9)

Hello I graduated from university in Cyrpus on Economics back to 2018. Years later, I have decided to do a MBA or Master degree ( if possible IN OIL AND GAS MANAGEMENT if not regular MBA  programme is ok) currently i am working in oil sector ( they dont pay high) so it has to be fully online. Curretly I am living in Turkey so i need Europe accredieted University. Between 2018-2022 i lived in USA and had resident permit(its expired but active SSN if it needs) if there is a place both EU and US accredited in USA.

So since two weeks, I am checking forum and had some ideas that option could be,

ENEB Which is says $8k it is really high amount that i can not afford.
Upeople is about $400 for course , around $5k total ?
Hellenic American University in forum some says its $3k but i did not be able to find that price on their website and that price might be for US citizens.

I really dont know what to do, I will be gratefull for any more school advices specially for legit ones. thx

Note: I wish i knew this website years before bec. this place is a gem.

  Choosing UMPI vs Study.com
Posted by: Ljanelle - 07-25-2024, 12:33 AM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (8)

I just got accepted to start UMPI in September!!  I've decided to go for the Business Administration degree with the Managment & Leadership concentration.

This forum has helped me so much!!!  Thank you all.

I'm finishing up a couple required sophia classes this week.  And I've earmarked the 6 classes that I will definitely need to take at UMPI (including 3 that count to the MOAL if I pursue that later).

But the following 7 classes that could be taken at either UMPI or Study.com.   I have no experience with Study.com classes.  Should I use the month of August to knock out a few of these at study.com?  Would they be easier/faster than taking them through UMPI?   Note: I will need to take 4 of these at UMPI - are any of them really easy through UMPI?

Any advice would be really appreciated!!

I was wondering if I would be able to use these credits to create a new degree. I saw they offer an associate's degree in Computer Science and was wondering how many transfer credits will they accept into an associate's program? I already have an RA bachelor's plus tons of extra credits.

Oops it happened again...

We have a new virus! Previously, Corona from China... Now, Nipah from India... Mask up India! Let's try to contain this the best we can and hope for the best as there isn't a vaccine for this newest one just yet, hopefully they'll come out with something soon if this spreads quickly...

Posted by: avocado778 - 07-24-2024, 07:15 PM - Forum: WGU - Western Governors University Discussion - Replies (4)

Hello,
I can't enroll to WGU for my MBA until December but I was hoping I could get a head start and take a few graduated level courses to transfer over. Are there any? What about transferring over ENEB credits?

Thank you

Planning to knockout 90 credits asap and then enroll and complete a B.A. with Marketing focus at UMPI. How do I know specifically what tests to take through Sophia and Modern States so that they all apply to my degree.

  chepeast options for international transcripts?
Posted by: Solden81 - 07-24-2024, 04:48 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (13)

Hello, back again. After months, Peru overturned the whole rejection of USA degrees outside of the top 800 world universities, so I went ahead and finished all my Sophia courses for GED and BABA with a marketing minor. I was going to do some more courses at Study.com, but the tuition got higher and put me in a tougher spot as now I had about 2500 dollars saved planning to get those 500, but now I would need 900 (likely 1000 due to paying international fees; Sophia did cost me 85 dollars instead of 70). Given all of that, I'm looking for the cheapest way to get my credits from high school and the university I attended in Peru—about 80 credits, approximately. I assume I have to send transcripts. Is it a course-by-course evaluation, no? If so, from what I have seen, most charge per page, which would seem to add a lot really fast given how many courses I already took.

One person on Reddit recommended Scholaro or Ucredo because they told me they would allow you to scan the documents and send them the pdfs directly for evaluation. Are those the cheapest?

Now from my understanding, I need to take 30 credits with UMPI directly. Leaving a total of 19 credits I can take with Sophia. I am looking for guidance or a point on the right direction on which classes I should take with Sophia.
The credits I already have are;

LLEE 111 - Liberal Arts Transfer - 3 Credits

Hist 118 - Intro to African History - 3 credits
SOC 101 - Intro to Sociology - 3 credits
BHSC 366 - Medical Ethics - 3 credits
ENG 112 - written eng/lit studies II - 3 credits
PSY 207 - psychology of learning - 3 credits
PSY 237 - human sexual behavior - 3 credits
BIO 110 - intro to human biology - 3 credits
PSY 262 - Alcohol , Drugs & Behavior - 3 credits
SPAN 359 - Span Amer Black Literature - 3 credits
SPCM - Oral Communications - 3 credits
ENG 249 - American Gothic
FORL 233 - Comparative Romantic Literature - 3 credits
PSY 254 - child psychology - 3 credits
RELG 109 - Intro to religion - 3 credits

I appreciate all the help I can get!

  3 units prior to 8/2/24
Posted by: go_mustangs - 07-24-2024, 01:56 PM - Forum: CLEP, DSST, and TECEP Exam Discussion. Also Modern States and InstantCert. - Replies (7)

I don't know much about this topic.  I am a community college educator who is helping a student in need.  The student needs 3 units of academic work (any 3 academic units) posted for the Summer semester in order to maintain athletic eligibility.  I'm guessing the work will need to be completed/posted by 8/2/24 since that's when the Summer semester ends here.  I'm not sure where to start or what options (if any) are available so any information or direction would be greatly appreciated.   Thank You
