I am writing on behalf of my teen. I have used this site with great success and I return to glean info from the hive mind! I wish they could do UMPI since that's what I did but they are too young.
I have checked out the following: Capella, PUG, SNHU
Your Location: Florida, USA
Your Age: 17
What kind of degree do you want?: Associate’s or Bachelor’s
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 1 from ASU UL (was trying for Pierpont BOG AAS but they did not do anything timely so here we are)
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 45 ACE credits from Sophia
Any certifications or military experience?: No
Budget: Open
Commitments: None
Dedicated time to study: Unlimited
Timeline: As fast as possible
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: NA, have FL Prepaid but will save that for further education most likely
Looking for the quickest, prefer CBE based on writing and presentations rather than proctored exams if at all possible. Very open to choice of school, honestly looking for the absolute quickest way to level up.
Thanks in advance and I am sure I am forgetting something!

I officially finished my BABA PM/IS at the end of January/beginning of February, but for some wild reason, I did go through with the psychology minor—which almost has given me a permanent eye twitch. If you’re in the psych or master’s program, you probably know exactly which instructor I’m talking about! ?Jokes aside, this program has been incredibly challenging, but it has also strengthened my analytical and speaking skills—honestly, even more than the speech therapy I’ve had to do post-craniotomy.
Is anyone planning to attend the in-person graduation, or does that feel a little too contrived? I’m debating it. I’m probably old enough to be most of my classmates’ teen mom, but after delaying my education due to medical circumstances, walking at graduation would feel like a meaningful bucket list moment. If anyone is attending the in person graduation, it’d be awesome to connect and do a DF/Reddit-YourPace mini event, since we’ve all supported each other throughout our journeys!
Did anyone else get the itch to keep going and pursue the masters too? Or any program in general if not UMPI? If you did, did it prove beneficial for you?
Anyways, thank you to all of you who provided helpful feedback, suggestions and support months ago at the beginning of my journey. Also, congrats to everyone finishing this year & if you’re reading this and contemplating on UMPI - you should definitely pursue it!

I've been going through posts for awhile now on here and Reddit, so I've been calculating how I can afford BA Graphic Design and Media Art at SNHU as an international student learning online and paying out-of-pocket and it seems like I might have calculated incorrectly.
I've read how many have transferred credits as much as 90 from Sophia, Straighterline and Study etc.
I had planned to do the same. I was so focused on GeneralEd and the 42 credits that I need and the 30 electives, that I did not notice the 36 credits for the major and 12 credits for a concentration.
Only one major is available on Sophia.
The total that I'll end up having to spend at SNHU now comes up to about $15K. It seems like the max I could get from credit transfer would be 75 since I would need to complete the major and the concentration. I thought it was possible to only have to spend 30 credits at SNHU but 45 credits is really costly.
There is no other way around this I suppose, is there?

Hello,
I have been reading the forum for years and hoping to finalize my degree but have not been able to for various reasons. I originally began college at a nice private school that is well known in the Northeast. I withdrew and moved back with my family. I attended local community college and received various credits.
Soooo now here we are today and education online is so much better than the early 2000's.
I have about 67 college credits and was also thinking of completing some Sophia courses and CLEP exams. The major I am interested in is Psychology or Criminal Justice- quickest. Once I have a degree I can qualify for a raise.
I have my eye on 2 choices:
William Woods University- $170 per credit thanks to my union. They accept a max of 70 community college credits and 90 from 4 year/testing/alternative. I will be able to utilize Sophia credits to fill in what I am missing. I anticipate I could finish the 11 classes (33 credits) I think I will need in 2 semesters for a cost of ~$5,600.
Boston College- Woods College has an affordable (for private school) option that can be completed online. They don't accept Sophia courses but based on what I have already completed in college, a preliminary evaluation showed I would received enough credits for the maximum transfer. I would have to complete 60 more. The courses are 4 credits each- so 15 classes. They also have a cap on classes. You can only complete 3 per semester/4 per summer so it will also take longer- 4 semesters for a cost of ~$40,000 or $30,000 if I receive a scholarship.
Being that it would essentially be the same degree, just one with prestige and one regular, which would you choose? I also work for public service so I could make use of the PSFL for the larger tuition amount.
I am not sure which one to go with. I would love to be an alumni and carry Boston College but would it be worth the extra time and money?
Please help!!

Hello-
I am new to this forum and trying to read everything I can. I have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from California State University, Fresno (from 2001) and recently received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a multi-subject credential from WGU. I realized I want to teach science in Middle/ High school and although there are a few ways of going about it I am thinking I might want to get the Bachelor of Arts, Biology degree from TESU. I am also interested in any ideas for other Bachelor's degrees I may be close to achieving. I'm very new to this and want to see if it's even worth it. I have quite a bit of college credits already form various sources as I've pursued a few different degrees over the years. Thank you so much!! See below.
Your Location: California, United States.

What kind of degree do you want?: Biological Sciences, possibly others if I am super close with all of my credits. If you hold a bachelor's degree in a subject you are eligible to teach that subject at the high school level.

Dedicated time to study: Right now, through Summer, I can work on school mostly full-time.
Timeline: Finishing the courses required for the degree as fast as possible would be ideal.

Would like opinions on the best way to go about this. I need to do everything online and am OK at test taking but don't want to CLEP out of any classes.

Hi all,
I graduated from WGU with a health science degree, and I'm looking for a master's degree online for under $10k to help me get a career in longevity (anti-aging research). I'm taking a certificate at FU (Innovative Aging Studies) and want a master's to help me move further.
I found some options maybe they would be beneficial for you to know:
1. Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (online), free for EU, other nationals accepted limited

| Help creating TESU BACS plan |

Hi all,
The tl;dr is I'm looking to take the next step after experiencing some hardships and would like help putting together a plan to get a BACS from TESU.
I started a bachelor's degree at a regular 4-year school, but experienced a significant personal setback at the end of sophomore year and spent the next few years in and out of community college, trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I ended up earning an associate's in communications, then the pandemic hit. For the past few years, I've been putting time in working on myself, getting my head straight so to speak. I've been volunteering and teaching myself to code after spending way too much time neglecting taking care of myself. Now, I'm looking to get a bachelor's in computer science. The one wrinkle in this plan is due to current living arrangements I'm not permitted to be a full-time student. But I became very interested in Thomas Edison State University's BACS program after learning that it has a part-time option.
Your Location: New Jersey
Your Age: 35

Any certifications or military experience? No
Budget: ~$8k, would prefer to minimize cost

Dedicated time to study: 4-6 hours/day
Timeline: Flexible, however I am specifically looking for a part-time program as I am not allowed to be a full-time student due to living in low-income housing

I'm interested in how much it would cost to get a BACS from TESU, in addition to how long it would take. Thank you in advance.
