First my quick review on University of the People
Pros:
- It checks the Associates and Bachelor's degree box for me
- Got two degrees in 3 years
- I graduated without any debt
- "Most" recruiters and headhunters won't care
- Its connection with Sophia was a game changer for finishing
Cons:
- The support from advisors is minimal and sporadic
- Peer review is the horror you heard it to be
- (and this is a "me" problem) I am almost ashamed to tell anyone that I got a degree from there & won't put it on my LinkedIN
- I wanted to be proud of this moment and I'm not (again, a me problem)
- The quality of education I got seemed a bit subpar and I "did" the work and have a 3.6 GPA. Sub par in that the materials and information were extremely dated and with the speed in which information and business shifts, so much of what they had us studying was obsolete.
- There is NO school spirit (merch or otherwise--I asked, and asked about a total rebrand)
Moving forward---
Need advice on what school could I receive my Masters (MBA) that won't cost an arm and a leg, BUT is balanced by a more reputable brand. Would love to hear some of your experiences.

Question about transferring/credit-washing ACCET credits for transfer to TESU or UMPI

Hi, folks.
Not sure if this is the right category. Feel free to move it if not.
Curious if anyone has insight on any way to transfer credits from Intercoast College (ACCET-accredited) to TESU, UMPI (or, for that matter, Excelsior). I have a friend who works as a drug/alcohol counselor and got a certificate (and maybe part of an associates) from Intercoast.
I'm guessing it's a no, but I'm wondering if there might be a way to credit-wash to get her some credits for the work she's done. I know that students at DLCAS.com have successfully transferred credits (or credit equivalencies) to a couple of regionally accredited schools, and I don't think that place has any accreditation at all.
It isn't the end of the world if she can't, but if she can... it will give her a leg up on completing a bachelor's degree.
Any input appreciated.

I used a lot of the resources you get when you google, U.S goverment clep reddit. Adam norris was by far the most helpful, same with the quizlets, Im not sure why everyone hyped up modern states so much because I didnt really click with it at all. Im sure its useful for the voucher though but I didnt wanna go through with all that work. Know about PACS, Pluralism, Political behavior through demographics and there history, basic history on the documents, know why they were written, enlightenment john locke stuff, you need a strong foundation and youll be good. I also used lots of chat gpt, if you have hyper specific questions, its very good for learning in accessory.
I am so estatic i passed, I was so scared. 2 more to get into my dream college. I am a little seasick thinking about the accounting and biology exam I have to complete next...
You can do this!
The test was easier then I thought, the difficulty is in the wording of the questions. I studied so much I knew top to bottom and they made the most basic terms I knew easily, very confusing. I tried to just breathe through them and imagine i was doing a practice exam.
copyin' and pasting from reddit. I did all these religiously for about a week.

UMPI Gen Ed Question

I'm finally looking at UMPI and seeing how there system is different than the other options in this space.
They have a generic Gen Ed curriculum with 5 categories of learning, and several "objectives" each.
At the beginning of the list, I was thinking each course listed was required. As I progressed 1/3 down the list, I realized that was way too many classes. The little blurb at the top of the page doesn't explain this. So here's my question:
In each objective, just one of the listed courses is required?
(And that includes the consideration that somes courses can pull double-duty and fill requirements for two objectives.)

Good afternoon, i wanted to check if it’s possible to have two accounts with SDC. I’ve reviewed the policy but I am seeking clarification as I’m trying to take advantage of the 30% off deal again. My current account no longer has an active membership, so I wouldn’t be using both accounts simultaneously. I recall seeing a post about this topic but couldn’t locate it through the search. Could someone please confirm or provide guidance on this?

From WGU Accounting to TESU or Excelsior?

I’m transferring accounting credits from WGU to either TESU or Excelsior. I have 118 accounting credits from WGU - so ideally I’d like to choose the school that lets me transfer in the up to the maximum.
Does anyone have any experience with the accounting degrees at Excelsior and TESU? I see TESU has the BSBA and BS in accounting and Excelsior has a BSBA. Between these three degrees which one is the most transfer friendly? Thanks!

Your Location: NYC
Your Age: 28
What kind of degree do you want?: CS or Software Engineering
Current Regional Accredited Credits: Unsure. I had about 130 credits when I completed my BA.
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 0
Any certifications or military experience?: CompTIA A+ and Net+
Budget: $150,000 (for BS + MS)
Commitments: Work > 45 hrs/week
Dedicated time to study: 15-20 hrs/week
Timeline: 5 years
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: 90%
Update: In addition to the basic template above... It may be a good idea to expand the information you provide us to include the following, this will provide some insight into your particular situation. We can either recommend the alternative test-out options COSC, EC (soon to be EU), TESU or competency based education providers such as PUG, UMG (UMASS Global - formerly Brandman), UMPI, WGU or another institution.
Budget: I don't want to spend more than $15k of my own money, but I can be flexible. Work will pay 90% so my total budget for program costs is $150k
Commitments: I work full time, that's it. I spend time studying/learning regularly already. Not planning on getting into any other serious long term time commitments any time soon.
Dedicated time to study: I'm estimating 2 hours per week day and at least 4-6 on Sat/Sun.
Timeline: Not the most important factor to me. I just want to learn the material well. If I have a BS and MS within 5 years I'd be happy. Less would be nice but not necessary.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: 90%.
ADDENDUM:
I have a non-CS/technical BA from Rutgers. However, my GPA sucked (2.5 I think)--I was having a very hard time in my life. Things are different now (I think I can succeed in an academic program), and I want to get at least a BS in CompSci. If possible and I find one that fits, I'd also like to progress to an MS program. Willing to start with an Associate Degree if it would be better. My bachelor's GPA is low enough that I pretty much feel like starting over with an AS is my best option.
My main struggle with this online degree idea is that a lot of people blast through Study.com courses and say the material isn't that great. While I program at work, I'm not a software engineer, so I can't claim experience has taught me things that some online courses may not. I'm willing to sacrifice speed and money for better courses. Any recommendations with that in mind? Or should I just accept the courses as they are and look to supplement with (even more) outside sources (e.g., teachyourselfcs.com)?
Thanks for any help, lmk if any more info would be good to include.
