#1
I keep seeing that people are using peterson tests as a study aid. I have the CLEP guides but am unable to find peterson tests how do I get these so I can use them to help prepare for the CLEP.

Thanks so much

Also check your various library systems as some have the subscription to Gale Center's TERC (Testing & Education Reference Center) which offers many different practice tests, etc., one of which is the Peterson line of CLEP practice exams. I found a local library here in Orange County, CA after much googling.

Here is the link: DOD Libraries

This is the link where "bricabrac" explains how to register.
Hope this helps!

Goodluck!

I have also found some high schools that actually post their password, allowing you to enter the TERC to take the Peterson's practice exams. Just have to go from their library site. I personally don't provide that information as I did find a way local to my area. If I can spend some time googling (less than a day), anyone can!

Anyone can utilize the Peterson's tests - for $20 you can access the test you've purchased for 90 days. I've used Peterson's for all three CLEP's I've taken so far and have found them very, very helpful and well worth the money. Here's the link: CLEP Practice Tests

One note - they only allow you to record your answers once, after that you'll see your marked response (not helpful for study purposes.) I go low-tech and paste a credit card to my computer screen over the answer choices in order to "retake" the tests as many times as I feel is necessary. (I also print some or all of the pages out for even more in depth study.)

I get it through being a veteran, but it's also available from my house by logging into my public library website.
Everyone should have access to it through this method.
DSST- General Anthropology - 52, Intro to Computer - 469, Technical Writing - 54, DSST Ethics in America - 59 (1996),
CLEP- Sociology -54, College Math - 550(1996), CLEP Principles of Management - 60 (1996)

hmuchmo1, you are correct as long as your public library has the correct subscription. This costs the library system quite a bit of money, so it is not as common as you might think (or hope, in this case)! For instance, I have seen plenty of library systems with a subscription to Gale's Virtual Reference Library, but this is not the same at all as it only allows access to encyclopedias.
