At the moment my only option is CLEP due to quirks and technicalities.
Okay so to bring people up to speed (FWIW): I obviously missed my guaranteed acceptance of credit deadline. Now I have to file an appeal. I'm hoping yes it will be accepted but it's not at all guaranteed - first I have to get the credit done though before I ask and before spring semester starts Jan 8th, and if that can somehow actually finish the first 6 credits by the end of next week/technically in Dec that may be better because Jan is in the new year if they want to be anal. So i'm going to try and set up a proctoring appointment on Friday the 29th and will cancel and try next week if I don't think I can pass.
The computer I thought was back from the dead returned to the dead on next reboot. But at least I got my last due assignments off there (for a course I was already taking). On the plus side I got double shifts at work covering my cash shortfall so I at least wont be at homeless risk, but money will be STUPID tight (two to three foodshelf only months coming next) and only affordable because I plan to take advantage of that Modern States offer. Also a coworker borrowed me his laptop so I can finally focus on being online here and taking the Modern States stuff online.
SO.... HERE I AM.
My 30 day Instant Cert trial expires in 3 days - will I still have access to this subforum if I don't pay the IC renewal?
How important have people found Instant Cert to be in helping you pass, assuming you already took something like Modern States and free clep prep? Is my $15-20 better spent on free clep prep guide or another month here?
I am okay doing something in addition to Modern States - it's just a question of what. (the free clep prep or IC with a self made quiz with flashcards or whatever) What are the Quick Prep Study Sheets, a part of the free clep prep with their mp3 or something else?
I'm still curious on one big thing - if I get a high percentage on the Instant Cert practice test, is it basically guaranteed that I will pass the real CLEP? Do scores ever diverge much/ie content NOT on the IC test?
My current plan is to INSTANTLY start studying at Modern States in a binge - I could really use the tuition reimbursement and it sounds feasible. Maybe just start with Marketing since not sure what else to start with - but i'm back to being open to feedback if people think another course besides Management will be dramatically easier to learn. I tried starting several tests on Instant Cert and just felt like a doofus - I'm good at understanding concepts, poor at "facts and figures", ie who was the person who did what in what year? That's what I suck at if I don't already know it, and it seems I don't know anything that I thought even in topics i'm familiar with.
