Hey guys and gals.
With the help of the forums here and the IC flashcards I've taken and passed two 6 credit cleps so far. YAY!
During the sign in process I elect to have my score sent to TESC. So about a month ago I took and passed the humanities clep and today checked the Student Services section on TESC's website. Should I be seeing those credits show up? Is it normal for it to take this long? Am I doing something wrong?
I have access to both my academic eval. and my unofficial transcripts. It's been two months and nothing has changed on either. Is this par for the course?
The lack of feedback from TESC is annoying me. But, with the eval in hand I have a good idea of what credits I need so I'll just keep plugging away I guess.
Any thoughts?

In your transcripts received section of your student services it should show the CLEP transcript as received and the date of Receipt, usually within 2 weeks of testing. It can take TESC up to 6 weeks to actually add it to your academic eval. Did you get the courses/exams approved by an advisor? If the transcript is not showing as received you can call College boards at (800) 257-9558 and they can check when they sent it out.

Just talking about this topic with someone today. They said it takes 24 business days for them to go on your eval. If you do not see the transcript as being recieved I would definitely contact them about that. You moght have to resend your transcript if they do not have it. It is like watching an iceberg melt they are so slow.

The one time I got an adviser on the phone she was extremely rude, most likely dude to the screaming baby in the background. It's like pulling teeth getting any info from anyone at TESC.
All I want is a list of classes to take, I'll pass them, then you can have some of my money and I get a degree. Seems simple to me, but in practice it isn't.

Have you paid tuition or just done the eval? I hear that it gets better once you're actually a paying student.

Do you mean this list of exam/course equivalents?
Undergraduate Ways to Earn Credit - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMSââ¢
To me, the strength of the Big 3 is that they allow the most choices possible for ways to earn credit. By giving this flexibility to the student, they can not make the choices for each individual. There are too many variables for each situation.
Even at this forum, we can give a lot of guidance, but I think it will be much easier for you to study and have success if you choose exams that fit your interests and goals.

I haven't paid tuition due to the lack of communication so far. As for using this site for info, it has been evaluable. I took and passed the American Lit. Clep today.
So I'm on my way, and once i rack up some more credits I'll dive deeper into TESC so I dont go astray with classes I don't need.

That's probably the problem. On the bottom of my initial pre-tuition evaluation, it said I could only get one evaluation prior to enrollment in the school. Once you do enroll, your evaluation should update within a week or so. Mine did.
For help on degree plan questions, I've found emailing the advising department very quick (answer within one business day) and helpful. I haven't had the bad phone experience you mentioned, but I prefer emails so I can save them. If questions should come up about why you took a class or test, if you have an email from someone confirming its application to your plan, it may save you some headache.
