Elmwood Institute Increased Fees

Guys, Elmwood is changing its name. Please see this email I obtained this morning. I'm not sure what this means for costs, etc.

Dear Graduate Students,

I'm thrilled to share with you that Elmwood Institute now has a new name! Our institution is now Frontier Institute of Technology. I want to tell you why we made this change of name.

A frontier is the edge of the known world. It’s a place where the map runs out. For most of human history, frontiers were defined by geography: the oceans, mountains, deserts, and forests that constrained human exploration and trade. But the new frontiers are the still-undetermined ways that technology will reshape our economies, institutions, and lives – and the widening gap between what's now possible and what we've actually learned to do with it.

The global economy is being rewired around new technological development faster than our institutions can keep up. That’s a leadership challenge, and that’s the territory that we need to prepare students for. We’re betting on you to be the explorers who have the skills, competencies, leadership, and values to define how the 21st century will work for people.

The responsibility of the leadership, faculty, and staff of Frontier Institute of Technology is to build a world-class institution designed for this moment. To that end, you will see improvements and new programs being launched. While these programs will initially be launched at the undergraduate level, graduate level programs and enhancements are on our strategic roadmap.

But you, too, have a responsibility. As early students at Frontier, you shape the culture of the institution from the inside out. Your study habits, engagement, and the honest feedback you provide us will shape how we respond to every subsequent student.

A change of name can raise questions, so let me be clear about what is not changing: Our accreditation is unchanged. Our current programs will continue. And our people – the faculty and staff you already know and work with – are still in place. Over the coming months you'll see some new branding roll out, some core improvements, and some new program elements, but everything you rely on will stay where it is.

Please join me in celebrating our new name: Frontier Institute of Technology!
