Will my CLEP results show up on time?
#1
Hi, not sure if this is the right forum, I believe it is though.

I took my CLEP exam in College Math last Tuesday to satisfy my remaining 2 credits on my Associates in BA, and passed. I understand that the holiday these past few days probably set me back quite a few days in getting my results mailed. My question is, the graduate adviser informed me that she must have the results in her office by December 19th. I am located in southern PA so not far from the CLEP office.

I understand that the results arriving to the office would vary greatly with the weather and postal service etc.

However, from your experience, do you believe she should get the results on time?

Thanks, I shouldn't have waited until last minute but unfortunately many circumstances lead me to this scenario.

Just to clarify, when you took your exam, did you check the box asking for the results to be sent to your school? Or, did you go into the website and order a transcript?

26 Nov 2013 last year (last Tuesday of the month/week also) I took my last DSST exam for my CCAF degree, and my school was able to classify me as graduated by 09 Dec 2013, with my results sent directly to my school (was the only option, it being on a computer).

In the past I have had to call to make sure that these were actually sent to their respective schools; they usually didn't raise an issue if it was fairly recently, and on at least two occasions it was the only way I ensured that my results were actually sent. I wasn't charged with a fee in either case.

When I needed a result that TESC did not report received I called CLEP office in NJ, they were able to check and tell me that it was mailed within 72 hours of the exam. Where is the school that you need to receive your results? I would think even with holiday mail the results should be in the mail tomorrow at the latest and it should not take 19 days to get anywhere.

The school is in south eastern Pennsylvania, so very close to NJ, I just want to be confident that I will be able to graduate and not have to wait until May.

I initially selected the school when I ordered the registration, and agreed to send the results as far as I know right before I saw my score, I didn't check any sort of boxes as far as I recall, however I do plan on calling tomorrow to ask about the results being sent, as well as to order a transcript to be 100% confident.

Some schools will be agreeable to seeing your unofficial print-out when it comes to processing you for graduation or for registration for the semester's courses. You might want to check with the graduate advisor, or just send a scanned copy of the print-out you received. I really don't see a problem with your school receiving it by the 19th, but you might call your registrar's office and ask how long it takes between receipt of an official score and their office to actually apply it to your records.
