I am enrolled in TESC pursuing an ASBA and a BA in Social Sciences. I asked my advisor about using ALEKS for PreCalculus and he said they cannot pre-approve the course. However, that doesn't mean they won't take it... I have heard that they did awhile ago.

Regarding CLEP: By the time I finish both my degrees, I will have CLEPed 120 credits and taken only one 3-credit course. For the ASBA, the only class you cannot CLEP out of is Managerial Accounting. CLEP will definitely satisfy the core requirements and the CLEP business exams will cover most everything else.

Hi Adrian,

Here is another good thread you might want to look at. It's really long, but has lots of good information. Smile

In a nutshell, ALEKS is a program that teaches you a certain subject and gives you problems to solve. Once you complete 70% of the modules, you may use your ALEKS for credit. It's kind of like CLEP in that you get credit without taking a college course. However, ALEKS teaches you the material, whereas CLEP tests you on the material.

Some people prefer CLEP and others prefer ALEKS. Another thing, ALEKS is only $20 per month.
