Oh yah right! Why wouldn't it be legit? Because online classes from colleges aren't as good as going to the college? Or the COLLEGE LEVEL EXAMS made by the COLLEGE BOARD and the DSSTs designed for the MILITARY are low quality and are not legitimate? Wow!

Ignore people that try to shoot you down. The trend is rapidly moving to obtaining degrees online. Any HR person that does not know this has surely not been attending recent HR workshops.

Absolutely! I am planning to re-take microeconomics via Straighterline because my grade the first time around was lousy. That class had been taught in a huge lecture hall, by a professor with an incomprehensible accent, with no chance of student interaction.
Ironically, that was at the University of Pennsylvania. :p

Taking the cleps/dssts can't be that bad. People forget over 2900 colleges accepts some of these courses.

Learning happens in all different ways. I am just grateful that I have an excellent alternative to my educational needs. I also openly share information with other students that attend classes with. There is this woman I am in class who has credits from all these different schools. I said to her âall of this and you will only have an AA this spring.â She listened and sent her transcript out for an eval at TESC and she is now on her way to a BA. She did 43 credits this semester, 10 credits in seat, business math test, foreign language exam 12 credits, and 18 FEMAS for general electives. All she needs is Art History 2 and English Comp 2 and she has her BA. She is now applying for a Master degree this fall. Now with the long hard painful way this single mom who works really hard would have been 2 to 3 years away (if she went fulltime) from this goal. And may I add thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. She is thrilled and thankful!
She has not told any of her instructors at school what her plans are because one of them had said to her âoh please donât go to one of those on line schools.â Actually I do not think that this person that said that to her can do anything more than just turn her computer on. My friend is looking into a Master in Interior Architecture and there are no available degrees in that area of study in a 3 state radius, so she will have to do it online.
The world we live in is not âone size fits allâ and people that are closed minded will never see the light of new and great things. But it is nice to see that your friend â¦PhD â¦has an open mind.

For the most part EC is not an online school. They are mainly used as a credit bank. The part of the university that most of us use is exactly the same as the backroom of any university. The bursar, registrar, advisement, and degree conferral services are exactly the same, and must follow exactly the same requirements as a B&M school to remain accredited.
The only thing that makes them unique is the fact that they *like* to accept credits from all other schools.
The strange thing here is that many B&M schools are missing out on the money that they could be making if they accepted more transfer credits. I gave EC probably $3.5k for testing, enrollment, and graduation over the course of 3 months. That is a lot of money for a college with no classrooms and a handful of professors. In fact, their only overhead was maybe an hour of advisement, and about an hour of credit evaluation.

Thanks
Admissions fee, enrollment fee, graduation fee, literacy course, and 6 EC exams and practice exams all add up to a pile of cash. Maybe it was closer to 3k, but still a lot.

Just remember, Bill Gates did not have the patience for attending a B&M school. He dropped out because he had other stuff to do.
