So I'm approaching years end I have completed 12/30 units needed so far to graduate with my BSBA in accounting, I plan on graduating from TESU in March of 2017. The way my work schedule is set up I have the ability right now (and funds) to enroll in a graduate program once I'm done and knock it out I don't think I will have this chance again with this much free time so I want to use it for something productive. I currently work part time and I was wondering does my degree have to be conferred before I can enroll in a graduate program at either Patten or WGU.

Are you looking to become a cpa? Do you want to work in finance or accounting?
I much prefer wgu over patten as organizations. Wgu just seems to have their act together a little better than patten. Just my two cents.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

Yes I'm looking to become a CPA in California, they're pretty liberal as far as becoming certified for anything so testing out shouldnt be a big deal for them especially if I got the MS in Accounting route through WGU.

Good deal, I just always like to check to make sure that the program people are interested in will provide credits that apply towards licensure. I knew the WGU path would work, just wasn't sure how the Patten credits would stack up.
To answer your second question, with WGU you have to absolutely wait for conferral. I begged, pleaded, offered other documents -- no go. Patten from what I've seen is not as strict (think you have 30 days if I remember). I wouldn't let that factor in too largely on the program selected, but that's just me.

I was considering an MBA in Finance due to the fact that a lot of accountants have dual majors so the finance major would help balance me out. I think I'm gonna go the WGU route. Anyone have any feedback on how many hours a week I need to dedicate to working on a graduate degree from WGU?
