Yeah absolutely. Creative Leadership sounds like a great doctorate for many of us and the modern world. Rumor is for VUL students we can have less classes if we come back for this one. I will come back for this one if I don't have to do all the courses.

Any updates on the new degree? Mostly wondering what Creative Leadership means compared to strategic leadership and organizational leadership. All these fancy buzz words. I LOVE the idea of practicums instead of dissertation! I really don't want to do a dissertation. I'm not looking for a PhD or to do future research or become a professor. An adjunct maybe definitely a part time thing not a career.

Last I heard it is stuck in accreditation hell right now.

I was thinking it'll take some time too, especially since it's a newer program... I would just continue on your path on the Masters before going for any future credentials.

Fully agree.
If VUL does something similar to their DHA, you will need a total of 90 credits to graduate. Virginia requires this by law to graduate with a doctorate.
If anyone is holding out on this and already has a Masters consider another program another MA, or even a grad certificate or two.
The new doctorate will likely be around 36 credits. 54 credits left, an average master's is 36, but some have less (mine was 27 because of my undergrad!). That's still 18, aka 6 more classes or half of another master's or one to two certificates to avoid their "externship".

I agree, a first masters won't be enough for completion of this degree, they require at least another 30 or so graduate credits in addition to the program requirements. So, technically as ashkir mentioned, 90+ credits at the graduate level for this to work. I really like the idea of having an extra diploma or masters degree, as you can technically "major" in something radically different.

Interesting, I researched their DHA program and am very close to applying. But this Creative Leadership Ph.D. sounds intriguing. One thing I'm happy about is that I have a nice amount of Graduate Credits from John F. Kennedy Univ (Now National Univ.), combined with my soon-to-be-completed Psychology Masters I'll have 97 graduate credits. So VUL was already looking like a good deal in my book. I can finally use those old JFKU credits for something and not feel like they were an expensive mistake.
