I am studying for the US History II Clep and wonder if anybody has some tips for me. There are so many Amendments, Treaties, Dates, and names. Should I be trying to memorize this stuff? What should I focus on? Thank you for any input you may have.

Aside from the incredible IC-Flashcards, check out the specific feedback section too - Good Luck!

I found that 90% of the things on the flashcards were on my version test. I could have passed with just the flashcards but using Wikipedia gave me a lot of background information that made the flashcards a little bit easier to remember. Also, someone suggested this
website for online lecture notes on U.S. History II - EVERYTHING covered in here was on my version of the test and most of the information on there is covered on IC.
You do need to know dates and treaties, that was a big chunk of my test. I can't recall the exact questions anymore, sorry. But I can tell you that I had at least 6 questions that were taken directly from the Official CLEP study guide; which I just happened to browse a borrowed copy 10 minutes before my exam. They weren't covered in IC, so I know I would have gotten them wrong if I didn't get lucky and looked at someone's guide.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips on passing the American History 2 CLEP. I did not think about using Wikepedia. Great Idea!

The questions contained in InstantCert only go through President Clinton's term. Are there questions on the CLEP about George W?

I think there were 1 or 2 on mine. Don't worry though, there won't be many, and they won't be obscure facts. It will just cover majors things that would have been all over the news.
Good luck!

Make sure you are brushed up on civil rights and labor laws. My version of the test was extremely "politically correct".

Do you have a copy of the official guide book? I had a few questions that were taken directly from the book. I remember one about a painting and another on artists from the 20's -30's ... which threw me for a loop.
