For the leadership course at least, it says you can be a duel-enrollment student and receive credit. Whether they want you to take another course at Troy before you receive credit for these courses, I don't know.

Dual enrollment is what they call high school students who are taking college credit courses.   They have been very clear that they will not put these courses on a transcript for transfer outside of Troy University.

From the announcements in the course…..

Remember: Academic credit is an option only for incoming TROY freshmen, or current TROY students with fewer than 15 semester hours of Troy University credit.  Students who pass will be awarded 3 hours of LDR 1100 credit with a grade of P (pass).  The grade will neither help nor harm your GPA, regardless of your challenge exam score.  The grade will only be applied to a Troy University transcript and only after you have cleared any holds on your registration for fall 2022.

I'm not sure that dual-enrollment here is (only) counting HS students.

Quote:
  • Criterion 1 for taking the Challenge Exam: You are an incoming freshman (or first-semester student) at Troy University (main campus, satellite locations, or online).
  • Criterion 2 for taking the Challenge Exam: If you are not an incoming freshman, you MUST be a current Troy student with LESS than 15 semester hours of credit
  • Criterion 3 for taking the Challenge Exam: If you are a dual-enrollment student at Troy University, you are allowed to take the Challenge Exam regardless of your current credit hours
  • Criterion 4 for taking the Challenge Exam: If you are a rising High School Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior, you can earn college credit if you decide to attend Troy University full time. Once at Troy University, you can request college credit for the course. It is the responsibility of the individual student to request college credit.

Criterion 1 and 2 cover new students. 4 covers HS students. 3 is iffy. Dual enrollment is used for HS students, but I've also seen some schools use it for visiting or non-degree seeking students. The FAQ on the signup page did definitely include "non-degree students" as being eligible for credit, after all.

What they mean by that is if you are a dual enrolled High School student already taking courses at Troy and have more than 15 credits, they will still let it count.  They probably could have worded it better.

More simply put, these credits are only good at Troy.  They are not going to put them on any transcript for transferring out.  The courses are being offered through their continuing education department.   The only thing they are offering to non-Troy students is Continuing Education credit.  They can offer a CE transcript if needed, but not an academic transcript.  There was a discussion in the course clarifying it.
