Charter Oak State College seems legit enough.

Thomas Edison State University is a bit odd, though not much different from Western Governors University.

Excelsior is a pretty bad name.

What's odd about TESU?  Thomas Edison was a very famous American inventor, who lived and worked in NJ.  Makes sense that they would name a college after him.  There are LOTS of colleges named after people (Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Brown, Cornell - were all named after people).

It's probably the fact that they used the full name. Had it been just "Edison State University" it would sound a little less like a middle school.

Haha!  You're right.  And, I just happened to go to Louis Pasteur Jr. High School, which immediately came to mind when you said that.

I really like TESU's name. I like COSC too although "College" is not as good.
