So while I'm busy working towards my bachelor's through TESU, my best friend came up to me and asked if I would be able to develop a degree plan for her. For context, she wants to eventually move into the Data Science/Analytics field, but she also has a slight interest in accounting. After looking around, I thought her best bet would be an UMPI yourpace BABA with an accounting concentration and then a master's in Data Science later on. I thought this would be the best option because Data Science degrees aren't known for being particularly transferable.
If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it.
As for now, I'm just looking for a BABA Accounting degree plan that I can change according to her schedule and budget.
Thank you all for the help.

Does she have a budget in mind? Because TESU does have a Data Science degree. It's not the cheapest, but it's not outrageously expensive. Honestly, for someone like that, I would probably do a duel BSBA CIS/Accounting from TESU, possibly plus BA CS. Do a bunch of credit overage from Coursera in the form of as many credit-applicable Data Science specializations/certificates as possible: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera A Data Science Master's can be difficult to gain entry to if one doesn't have an applicable foundational STEM-ish Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.). A BABA in Accounting may not be sufficient. A BSBA CIS might (or might not). Find the Master's degree first and aim for that.
That said, there is this plan for UMPI: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan

Unfortunately her budget is not a lot, were talking around the realm of $4k (for the bachelors) so I tried sticking to UMPI, since it would be the cheapest. I also looked at TESU's Data Science degree, however many of the classes don't seem transferrable and thus not very transfer friendly. Despite the dual degree being decently priced, it's still a decent amount above the budget, so I don't think that would be possible.
I'm truly not 100% about the masters yet. I was thinking along the lines of Walden University's MS Data Science program, otherwise I could look at UNISA for post grad.

After they earn their BABA in Accounting they may want to look at Eastern for the master in DS - https://www.eastern.edu/academics/gradua...ta-science

When you say that she has a slight interest in accounting, how slight? An accounting degree isn't the easiest degree for lots of people. Has she taken an accounting class? Any work experience in accounting? She may find something else is a better fit than accounting especially if she wants to get this over with quickly and cheaply.

She is currently working as an accountant, so yes she is aware of how difficult accounting is. When I say slight, I mean she is good in accounting, but its not necessarily a passion for her. So that's why we thought an accounting *concentration (not degree) would be a good fit for her bachelors. That way she can start building up DS certifications here and there and then eventually do her masters in DS.

Walden's MS Data Science is expensive! Link: https://www.waldenu.edu/online-masters-p...ience#fees
I would go with other options instead. Technically, you don't need a degree to get into data science, the friend can do the following. Finish the Bachelors, get the Coursera certs (Google/IBM, etc), and lastly, get experience working in that field.

Do they have any existing credits? Sophia is recommended to complete as much as possible - University of Maine at Presque Isle - Degree Forum Wiki (miraheze.org) I'm not sure what the must do at UMPI for the Accounting AOS is on the BABA, I'm sure others here can guide you (I know we all seemed to have gotten distracted by the master in DS rather than the more immediate goal of the BABA Accounting)
