UMPI Credit Evaluation Wait Times

Hi Everyone,

My brother, who got a Pierpont degree, is now ready to enroll at UMPI for BLS in PM and Info Systems. He has all the credits lined up. I saw on a youtube video that UMPI's wait times have been very long recently and that some people are not even getting email replies...

He just applied today and sent in all of his credits. Has anyone here applied recently? What was your wait window like? He is hoping to start in the Jan 16th cohort.

You're a little early, but roughly the time I would recommend prospective students to apply to UMPI as you want to make sure your application and transcripts are completed before the application deadline and not the deadline for sending in transcripts. There have been people who were a couple months early and still slipped through the cracks as they didn't make sure they were enrolled...

Example, for your bro, application deadline is 12/12/2023, you want to apply now, make sure they've received your transcripts and everything completed by 12/12/2023 as the start date is 1/16/2024. Again, you can get the 90 plus credits using Sophia.org during this month and up to mid December, verify you have all credits in the right spots a week or two before your start date, that's it!

 I had 127 credits between Sophia and prior comm college, it took roughly 2 and a half weeks from the time i sent to the time it was released for me, I started the Fall Term 2. If he has sumbitted now, Id tell him to look over all the requirments, and ensure he has submitted everythying he needed to / ordered through parchment.  
After I hadnt heard anything after 14 days, I shot a email over to admin and they got back within 24 hours to tell me I needed to submit one more document before they could finish.  I did that and 3 days later I had my eval.

That's right, it'll vary by person to person, it's always best to be on the safe side to get everything to them early and verify with them you're enrolled, they've got all your info and processed the transcripts to get up to the 90 credit max for transfer...

I just was able to sign in after receiving my acceptance and I do not know where to go to request my transcripts to be evaluated. The one place I found was charging $50 per credit evaluation, is this right?

No you don't pay for transcript evaluations. You don't request them to be evaluated. You send your official transcripts to UMPI and they will evaluate them once they have received them all. It takes a few weeks after they receive all of them to process them. You'll see them on MaineStreet once they've been processed. If you don't have anything after a month, then you should contact Shea as she's the YourPace admissions coordinator and she'll help you out.

@2pointbourbon, that's right, you don't pay for transcripts to be evaluated at UMPI, you just need to send all the required documents to UMPI for them to do their internal evaluations to get an academic evaluation for you. If you have alternative credits that we recommend, they'll come from Credly, if you have credits from community colleges you've attended, they may charge a fee for that... Hi everyone,
Updating this thread. My brother got his evaluation back this evening. He has 172 credits (this was on purpose, he wanted to get as many 'free' credits as possible through TADA). 

A couple of things we noticed:
-Google IT transferred in as 12 credits as opposed to 15 stated in wiki
-IBM TADA course was not accepted, even though wiki stated that it was

Now he is waiting till next week to hopefully ask them to switch him offer to the BAS program.
