Is there any point in taking both trig and precalc for TESU or do they duplicate? I would presume that they both duplicate as precalc but does anyone know for sure? I know some schools do offer both (though TESU isn't one).

It partially depends on where you take the courses, since that determines the equivalency at TESU. As far as I know they are separate courses at TESU, but if you take them at say ALEKS, then they both come into TESU as Precalculus (MAT-129).

I was considering ASU EA + ALEKS - if they don't duplicate. If they do duplicate, then I'd just go through ALEKS because that's the cheaper option.

The only way to know for sure is to ask for the courses to be pre-planned into your TESU evaluation and see how they would come in. That assumes that there is an established equivalency in the database. If not, they'd need to be reviewed for equivalency so you may not get a consistent answer depending on who you talk to at TESU.
Personally, I'd just assume they will duplicate and go with ALEKS. I took College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Statistics at ALEKS since those are the only courses still available that transfer (and don't duplicate) at TESU. Intermediate Algebra also transfers without duplication, but it isn't offered by ALEKS any longer.

Trig comes in as MAT-125, Precalc comes in as MAT-129. So you could definitely do the ALEKS Trig and then EA/ASU Precalc. They will both come in.
