TESU Transfer Policy - Explained
#41
(06-20-2024, 02:35 PM)newdegree Wrote: Random question but does any of the big three TESU, EU, or COSC accept graduate credits toward a second bachelor's degree?
I saw that a lot of my prior credits from my undergraduate and graduate studies may meet the required courses for a bachelor's in political science from TESU.
TESU does. Though it depends on how it aligns. You need at least 24 new credits post the latest degree. You also need 15 credit for residency if you are not paying the residency waiver fee. Generally gen eds and electives are waived if the prior degree was a bachelors.

So, do I need 24 credits beyond my latest graduate degree or 24 new credits beyond bachelor's degree?
I ask this because I got a bachelors degree from an RA college so I was assuming you can transfer up to 114 credits in?

Last degree (at any level); they want them 'new'.  And more recently they have not been taking graduate level credits as bachelor UL substitution as they once used to (I speak from personal experience), so I would not assume they will. When this 30 RA rule went into effect many things they used to allow became a case by case basis - or I should say, a course by course basis. From what I have experienced, if the graduate credits had been for a first bachelor, an appeal might have worked - but not in the case of a 2nd bachelor (and this wasn't specific to my first being from TESU).

If you apply, please do let us know how it works out.

The credits from your EVMS Doctor of Health Science can be used to satisfy the 24 new credits (if applicable). Other completed degrees (such as those that were completed between 2015 to 2021) are not eligible for those 24 new hours. It is important that you graduate from TESU before EVMS

I know this trend is a few years old but making sure I understand.

Let's take me: I have 63 cr from Saylor, 9 cr Clep, over 60 recommended base on military. 6 cr from a Jr College, and 6 from a four year university.

For TESU

If everything when perfect (which we know will not happen)....
My Saylor, Clep, and military would max out at 90
I would have 6 under Jr college
And I would have 6 under four year college
If the stars aligned the maximum transfer credits I could have is 102 credits at TESU

You need 30 RA credit at TESU.  You have 12, you can get another 3 with a TECEP exam and 15 with a flat-rate tuition. That gets you to 120 total.

If you go the military route the requirements are slightly different:

@Tamss13, Even if you went for the TESU BALS for the most transfer of 102 credits... You may want to review this thread, I suggest also looking at UMPI for a max of 90 credit transfer: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid433696
