Torah College Credits - new testing options - clarifications
#11
Torah College Credits Wrote:Over the past few months we have received many inquiries about our courses from members of this forum, and some of the members thought it would be helpful to everyone if I made a post clarifying some of the most common points that have come up.

  1. TorahCollegeCredits.com is Coopersmith Career Consulting's online testing system.
  2. All transcripts that we send for General Education credits are official Coopersmith transcripts.
  3. All of our courses are approved by NCCRS and transfer to the big 3 as recommended on the NCCRS site. This includes our 21 upper level credits. If your adviser does not acknowledge this, contact us and we will clear it up with them.
  4. We offer a 2 credit Information Literacy course for $135 plus $25 fee to ProctorU which fulfills the EC requirement.
  5. Virtually all of our courses are self study with one exam to complete. We provide all the study materials you may need.

I will be monitoring this thread for follow up questions.

Our website has lots of information including pricing. Right now till April there is a special discount enrollment fee of $50.

I must add that I've been very impressed with the supportive camaraderie of the members of this forum, and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals as efficiently as possible.

Thanks for clarity. I've started suggesting Torah College Credits on my homeschooling page as well.

TCC saved me $300 on Info Lit and the process was a breeze, I highly recommend it. I wish I would have known about them earlier as they have some truly interesting courses I would have opted to take to spice up my journey.

When did you use this for EC? Was it recent?

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

A clarification on the discount enrollment fee...

Does the discounted enrollment fee of $50 cover an unlimited number of courses for one year? If this is so, then each Gen Ed course would be $220 ($65 x 3 cr + $25 proctor fees) plus a one-time payment of $50. This would place TCC's courses temporarily on par with UExcels/ECEs on the cost scale.

1. Testing centers may be set up as proctors.
2. Yes, Eng Comp I and II fulfill the written English requirement at EC, TESC and COSC
3. English Comp I consists of five essay assignments and one exam.

The directions for the essay assignments are very thorough and include sample essays; additionally there are short video instructions to help guide you. These essays are written at home at your own pace, and you can contact us anytime you need help.

The exam covers basic writing form, punctuation, and grammar. There is a study guide which covers everything you need to know. This exam needs to be taken with a proctor which we can set up near by you, or by using ProctorU.

English Comp II consists of six essay assignments with similar guidance to Eng Comp I.

The cost for each course is $255 plus a one time enrollment fee which is now at a special rate of $50. This rate is good till April

Okay, thank you for all the info! Two other questions....when you say complete at your own pace, does that mean that a student could sign up now to take advantage of the special offer, but then wait to start the class for a few months? Also, are the essay assignments for English I and II graded or is the grade for the class solely based on the exam?

Thank you!

Yes, the enrollment fee is good for unlimited classes for the year. Start whenever you like and take the exam whenever you like.
The Eng Comp essays are graded and calculated into the final grade. Only Eng Comp I has an exam, which is worth 40% of final grade.
