Despite its name, TAU is NOT an American school. It appears to be a Hong Kong company, but does not educate anyone in Hong Kong either. The main campus is in Mauritius, with additional campuses in Guyana and Zambia. If you want to earn a degree on every continent for the lulz, this could get you that elusive African degree. https://tauedu.org/
It looks like they've been mentioned a couple times here but there has never been any substantive discussion. Based on old posts the doctorate price has jumped from $5000 to $7800 in the recent past. https://gy.tauedu.org/tuition-and-aid/ An old thread on the sister site seemed to think their (in person) medical doctor program met the minimum requirement to be a medical doctor in the first world.
The online doctorate degrees from TAU are partnered with UCN. https://www.ucn.edu.ni/?page_id=3577 I'm not 100% sure which school is issuing the degree, or if you get one from both. They have doctorates you normally don't find online for reasonable prices, including computer science, library science, alternative medicine, sociology and a PhD in education (not Ed.D.), among others.
Most have related master's degree and/or work experience requirements that may or may not go away with the potential of money changing hands. Are they really going to tell Americans or Europeans that want to get doctorates in library science for fun to keep their money? From an overall prestige standpoint they don't seem to be in a position to sneer at ENEB degrees, so that may be good enough to not have the specific degree and/or years of work experience. https://dblp.ucnedu.org/
How does the degree evaluate? I have no idea. I came across it by accident, thought some of the options looked attractive for 4 figures and am throwing it out there as something to consider.

That's correct, I wrote about them as well, for those who want to review previous threads, you can do a search on sister board or on this board, you'll find a few pieces of info that may help if you decide to go for a more affordable approach to your doctoral degrees. They may be a viable option for some that aren't available elsewhere for that price range... I would search other countries as well if you wanted...

I am one of the three active moderators on DegreeInfo, there are a few mods but most of them are not as active (Maniac Craniac, SteveFoerster are the other two active mods, if you need something you can also PM these two as well, they're members of both boards)
There is a system wide issue for sign ups, it's not just you who is having issues signing up for DegreeInfo... Basically, you want to do the following. PM all 3 of us here, and tell us what your logon name is for DegreeInfo. Mods have various menu's, that's the one menu I don't have access to!

I strongly suggest any potential students avoid this "American" university. There are many tricks and traps they won't disclose to you before you are enrolled. First, this university is run by seasoned frauds hidden in some place in India. Second, they require you to find your own PhD mentor in your place, which is mentioned nowhere on their website. Third, they will not refund a shilling if you withdraw.

I would definitely hold off on this, not only because of the school, but I am pretty confident the UCN partnership is no longer valid. On the UCN site provided, they also have a link to the Azteca partnership which Azteca confirmed is no longer valid due to higher education changes in the country. I would wager the same is true with Texalia.

I would agree that holding off on this is prudent, until UCN partnership status clears or the program recognition gets clarified in some other way.
Nonetheless, here is a reasonably comprehensive review from a graduate: https://cleenewerck.org/phd-in-public-health-ucn/ .
Father Laurent Cleenewerck is an Eastern Orthodox priest, as well as a faculty member, doctoral advisor, admin, and one of the founders of another somewhat controversial school with African approvals, Euclid University. You decide if this makes him more or less biased.

It is safe to say that all inter-university partnerships with UCN are off limits indefinitely. Azteca, Texalia, and others are all likely seeking other university partnerships to make their programs official through other recognized universities. I'm likely the last graduate of UCN through international programs or atleast the last batch of graduates.
