University of the Incarnate Word is in San Antonio, TX and it's a partner school. University of Texas - Austin recommends Straighterline for science prerequisites, so I wasn't surprised that it's on the list of schools that have accepted Straighterline courses. You just have to contact each school that's of interest to you. I'm still waiting to hear if a local CC will accept their courses. The catalog says that the chairperson for each department is able to accept ACE-approved courses, but it's up to their discretion.

ACE credits at Texas community colleges are possible, but as far as I know, probably only for ACE credits earned for military training or for industry certificates (which typically have proctored exams). Military personnel who used Straighterline for ACE credit while in the military might have a chance of getting credit.
Western Governors University Texas is a Straighterline partner, but they now require proctored final exams. What are you trying to accomplish? What are you trying to avoid? What is the stumbling block for your son? There may be another solution that doesn't require Straighterline.
