Looking to Finish My BA then MA Quickly for NCAA Coaching
#1
Hey everyone,
I’m currently working full-time and looking to finish my bachelor’s degree as efficiently as possible. I only have a GED at the moment, so I’m starting from the ground up.
My goal is to complete a BA as quickly and affordably as I can, possibly through online or competency-based programs and jump to a Master Degree
If anyone has advice on which schools are flexible with transfer credits, self-paced options, or ways to accelerate the process, I’d really appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance!

Your Location: California, United States
Your Age: 31
What kind of degree do you want?: Any - Need BA and MA to apply for NCAA Coaching position
Current Regionally Accredited Credits: 0
Any certifications or military experience?: 0
Budget: $10,000, Easy & Fast is most important
Commitments: 25 hours of work per week
Dedicated time to study: All mornings
Timeline: Less than 1 year.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: I have FAFSA but am not sure if it will work for online programs.

Thank you!  Smile

Thank you!
I was wondering if you’d recommend doing the Sophia credits? I’m considering it to get ahead or possibly transfer some credits, but I’d love to hear your thoughts or experience with it. Thanks!

My son was an NCAA head coach with a bachelor's. You can try to get hired as an assistant somewhere, then use your school employee education benefit for the master's.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

Welcome to the board, great initial post with the addendum and template, plus a follow up question/post. Now we somewhat know what you're trying to do and we now have a bigger overview of what needs to be done to get there. See below...

Basically, I'd really recommend taking your time reading some posts, threads, plus the WIKI links provided earlier, as all the plans will have Sophia.org as the biggest provider of credits, Study.com would be a secondary provider, then Coursera as the third.

You will need to finish off the credits at UMPI for residency purposes... My suggestion is to decide on the degree you want, if you just need a quick check the box, the UMPI BLS with a minor or two plus the 3-4 classes that go towards the MAOL will be best.

Having said that, if you want a specific BBA with a concentration of choice, I'll also recommend the remainder of the 3-4 classes that go towards the MAOL, you can finish the MAOL cheaper, easier, faster either using the BLS/BBA to drop the # of required classes.

UMPI Bachelors for 2 sessions at $1700/session is $3400. MAOL for 2 sessions for 9 classes (3-4 coming from Bachelors) at $2350/session is $4700. Lastly, do the HAU MBA at $3K for 1 year term, $3400+$4700+$3000 = $11,100 for a bachelors and two masters combo!
