How to Completely Test Out of TESC Degrees
#51
Everyone, If I get a D in a straighterline course that is NOT in my area of study, example GE course. Will TESC still accept it? I read that because of ACE everything has to be 70% to transfer? I know TESC accepts Ds from other places but not sure about ACE/Straighterline

You have to get 70% to pass the course. They don't give grades, so you either pass with 70%, or don't pass at all.

You should actually post your entire eval, since we can't know which courses to suggest without knowing what you have already taken.

For Oral Comm, you can take the DSST, or the Straighterline (SL) Intro to Communications
For Info Lit, you can take A&I Lit CLEP, Technical Writing TECEP or DSST, or World Religions DSST or SL
For Ethics, there's a free course you can take (need 70% to pass): Preserve the trust on which insurance transactions are based with an understanding of ethics
For Civic Engagement, you can take American Government CLEP, SL, or study.com
For Statistics, you can take ALEKS ($20/mo), Saylor ($25), SL, DSST, or TECEP

For the rest, we need to know what is already in there.

JSD,

Is your BA in Soc Plan on Wikia up to date? I just downloaded this Academic Eval yesterday and it says only 15 credits must be upperlevel but your Plan on Wikia says 18. Not sure if there are any other discrepancies.. Appreciate your help!

Thanks

It is up to date. It says 15, not including the Capstone. As the capstone is UL, that makes 18.

From the latest catalog: http://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/Sociology.cfm
Quote:Courses transferred to Thomas Edison State University are equated to the following levels: 100, 200, 300 or 400. A minimum of 18 credits equating to 300 or 400 are required.

Emphasis added. You'll be covered.
