TESU (or ACE?) downgraded some courses
#1
So the 5 Study.com courses I took for my UL were all downgraded to LL. Since you all were so wonderful to help me, I thought I'd let you know what I found out for several Study.com courses this last week.

Business 101 Principles of Mgmt = MAN-210 (was MAN-301)
Business 102 Principles of Marketing = MAR-201 (was MAR-301)
Business 108 Business Ethics = PHI-285 (was PHI-384)
Business 113 Business Communication = COM-202 (was COM-300)
Finance 101 Principles of Finance = FIN-200 (was FIN-300)
Psychology 104 Social Psy = PSY-237 (was PSY-370)
Psychology 105 Research Methods = PSY-238 (was PSY-322)
Psychology 106 Abnormal Psy = PSY-235 (was PSY-350)

That's what I learned. I hope it helps.

Yes, this happened back on 12/31. It's also on Study.com's website.

The good news is, for the Business courses you listed, it doesn't matter - those courses are in the core, and fine as LL courses. If any had been AOS courses, though, that would be frustrating.

while we're on the topic, someone else just reported a few days ago that many straighterliine courses have been downgraded as well. Expect other providers to be impacted.

Are these all courses that were evaluated by ACE as LL and now TESU is downgrading them to match the recommendation? Are there any examples of courses with UL recommendations that TESU is lowering?

Yes, it looks like all the UL Straighterline courses, except ACC150, were downgraded to LL earlier this month. It appears that they are doing this with all the providers they have an established transfer agreement with.

I assume they will do so with other providers as people request assessments. To that end, I've made a list of courses from the other providers that I expect to be downgraded based on being recommended for LL credit by ACE/NCCRS, who knows if they actually do so.

Unfortunately I'm going for BALS so I really REALLY needed those Psyc courses as UL. Everything left at Study.com that is UL requires 2 x 3000 word papers and 5 sources each. I'm not that great at research or writing. My Eng Comp 2 is kicking my butt already. I'm certainly dreading the Capstone which starts 4/2.

So I have 2 months to get my last 12 courses, 5 of which need UL. So the hunt continues.

Yes, that's the only way to get UL recommendation from ACE at Study.com, is a project of some kind rather than just a quiz/finals style course.

You could do the Shmoop UL Lit courses.  There are a couple of UL DSST exams.  Coopersmith has some UL, not sure if they're quiz only.
