TESU help me understand things
#11
How had will it be. Like doing Sophia and Clep test and classes. I am not the brightest and smartest I just need aiming that doesn’t cost a arm and leg and is reasonably easy.

It's great you're asking questions and trying to find answers... But - You're jumping too far ahead of yourself, you haven't followed through with what has been asked of you yet. We won't know how 'hard' a course is for each and every person asking about the courses, as some (if not many) people learn differently. With the info you provide us, we can gauge how well you can do and if TESU or UMPI would be a better option.

Note: TESU you can transfer in 114 credits and just do the cornerstone/capstone. UMPI, you have to take 30 credits minimum. Excelsior isn't as hard as you think either, I've had someone with just 6 credits when they started, take a majority of their credits with Sophia.org, Study.com, and other ACE/NCCRS options. So, again, please list the courses you have, or complete the rest of the template... You're welcome!

Basically, I've reviewed your attached pictures... If you want to bump up your GPA, it's advantageous to take the BLS at UMPI and you can take a minor two, you'll need 30 credits for residency. If you don't really care for the GPA and wanted to get the degree, Excelsior has 7 credits and TESU has 6 credits residency requirement, you can transfer 113/114 of the credits in.

Generally speaking, Sophia is usually easier than CLEP. The exception would be if you already know the material (example: fluent French speaker), then CLEP is easier if you can get to a testing center.

Looking at your transcript, your classes with D grades will not transfer to UMPI. I think they would not count at TESU or Excelsior either. They're Gen Eds and TESU requires a grade of at least C for Gen Ed and Area of Study credit. TESU might accept SOC214 as an elective, however.

Because you seem to struggle with math, I would recommend starting there at Sophia. If you can pass Introduction to Statistics (NOT Foundations of Statistics) or College Algebra at Sophia, you may continue at UMPI. Otherwise, I think your best option will be a longer and more expensive TESU degree.

Even with D grades, I would still recommend applying to institutions that don't accept it, you shouldn't waste time on re-doing the course either.  It really depends on you, how you want to complete the courses, how you study, what really matters is finishing the degree of your choice.  For transfer credit reference, see below.

Excelsior accepts anything above a C-, again, they take 113 credits, you can have the remaining come through ACE/NCCRS, Foreign credits or those that come through from Nationally Accredited institutions.  https://www.excelsior.edu/start-with-mor...uidelines/

TESU accepts anything above a D, again they take 114 credits, you can have the remaining come through the same as Excelsior, except they don't take NA and the English Comp plus AOS classes has to be a C or higher.  https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...n-grading/

UMPI accepts anything above a C-, they require 30 residency credits, they accept RA, ACE credits to a max of 90 transfer credits. http://catalog.umpi.edu/content.php?catoid=5&navoid=206

TESU will take D grades for everything except English Comp I & II, and the AoS, where you have to have a C or higher.

For TESU's BALS degree, I show you need the following:

Sophia
Intro to Ethics
US Government
US History I or II
Any Humanities course
Any SocSci/History/Humanities
Any Science course
4 200-level AoS courses - Ancient Greek Philosophers, Conflict Resolution, Visual Communications, Intro to Statistics, Environmental Science, Microbiology, or A&P
3 Free Electives

Then you need your UL AoS courses - Study.com or Coopersmith are your best options for those

::thank you

ok I have decided to TESU for a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership or BA in Liberal Studies. I am leaning more towards BSOL because I feel as though it has more value than liberal studies, although, if somebody could tell me what is (easier) and can have more credits transferred into would be great as this and I am doing more for myself.  also this Is one of the nicest most helpful groups I have ever found. Seeing all the posts answering to peoples questions is really nice to see.
