TESU Requirements Assistance

I posted on here a few weeks ago and received some great feedback. 

The TESU evaluation was completed yesterday and I require 8 courses. Not too bad for someone who haven’t been to a formal school in many years. I would like to register for the Info Literacy and Liberal Arts Capstone only and then take the others through alternate means.

Can anyone offer assistance on potential best ways to complete the following? Note: “Best” for me is expedient, the quicker the better, to include my even doing some crash studying and then a test.

Eth 230 Ethics in a Digital Age (3)
POS 110 American Govt (3)
1ea. Human Cultures Course (3) 
3ea. Gen Education electives (9)

  Looking around the forum, I’ve seen Sophia offers an “Intro to Ethics” As a possible alternative to TESU’s “Ethics in a Digital Age”. Is this the best way to go?

  The GE electives could be done on Sophia also I presume, but I am curious if there is a fast way to go through another route.

  Any assistance would be appreciated!

For American Gov't, you could try InstantCert. Same organization that gives us this wonderful forum. This link should get you more info. It falls in the general idea of studying and test. https://www.instantcertcredit.com/courses/2/


For others, I would probably use Sophia. The ethics will work for that. and depending what else you already have, plenty of sophia courses to pick for Cultures and Gen Ed electives.

The absolute fastest for most of those credits is going to be Sophia.

Their ethics does indeed cover that requirement.

Human cultures can be: art history (either), conflict resolution, visual communications, Greek philosophers, Micro or macro economics, US history (either), psychology.

Gen Ed electives can be anything at Sophia that doesn't overlap with anything else you've taken EXCEPT business classes. These are not gen ed classes.

American government can be taken at InstantCert. Super quick and easy compared to other options.

In a month or so and $114 later, you'll have all the credits you need. Honestly, you'll probably be done with all the Sophia classes in just a couple of weeks.

You are making this sound so easy! I would love to knock it out that quickly and the cost is great too! TESU is charging $250 a credit (military) so $114 for all of these sounds great. I believe I will have to pay TESU the “waiver” since I am not taking 24 credits with them....ugh! But its better than the slower route of taking all credits there.

And today, Oct 30, registration opens for December term at tesu if getting the sos110 class then is something you want.

So I signed up for the instantcredit American Govt class as well as TESU Info Lit for the Nov course. I am on my way!

This is good news! You're getting started with TESU required courses and transferring in the rest, that's great. You should copy/paste your evaluation or create a screenshot/pdf file like you did in your previous thread here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ree-Please This way we can see what courses you have taken so we don't recommend duplicate courses.

My suggestion is to do all the Sophia.org that doesn't duplicate what you have, if you need different courses, then the TEEX Death Investigation and other TEEX courses that are paid/free can be used in free electives/general education, depending on what you need... Not trying to create panic or anger on here. But might need to wait up on teex death investigation. There's either a change or a major typo on the acclaim badge saying it's LL. I'd wait on that one a few weeks like teex talks with ace and all of that. (emailed yesterday to ask them......) I sure hope it's a typo and it really is UL now. It was when I took it in spring.

Ok, so for Military people, TESU is THE CHEAPEST possible option. But to do so, you need to take 24cr through them. Luckily for you (and only for Military), TECEP's count as residency credit.

So, you are going to want to take 6 easy TECEP exams, to replace whatever courses you already have. They will cost $150 each if you choose LL ones. Then, do the cornerstone (Info Lit) and capstone, and you're done.

You'll want to find the easiest options, like Liberal Arts Math and Computer Concepts. Whatever else is easy for you - I'd probably choose all Multiple choice ones if you can. But only you know what's "easy" for you, it's in the eye of the beholder.

I have been working on my Information Literacy class at TESU for the last couple of weeks. Additionally, I am taking the American Government class on Instant Cert to meet the requirements for the TESU Civic Engagement 3SH. I have a total of 24 SH left to finish. I am looking for input on the fastest way to complete the requirements please.

The following are my outstanding requirements to complete my degree work:

Information Literacy SOS-110 3SH (working)
Civic Engagement 3SH (Currently taking InstantCert American Government) 
Liberal Arts Capstone 3SH
Ethical Leadership 3SH
Knowledge Human Cultures 3SH:  I have taken the following: AOJ-101 Intro to Law Enforcement TESU # AOJ-101, PSY2012 Contem Psych TESU # PSY-101, GOG-280 Maps and Map Reading TESU # GOG-280
GE Electives: 9SH: I have taken the following: LIS2002 Intro to Internet TESU # CAP-140, IDS2936 Human Experience TESU # GEN-299, IDS2932 History of Ideas TESU # GEN-299, L200 Leadership Applied TESU # LDR-305 (*GR)

  Lastly, do most people “buy” the textbook for the American Government class? I have been taking the quizzes and doing well, but wasn’t sure if I should purchase the book for review purposes prior to the proctored test. Thoughts?
