TESU has new fees for the 2020-2021 school year
New Fees:
- Graduation Fee for certificates: $100
(It used to be that if you got a certificates on its own only, you'd pay the normal graduation fee. But for most people they'd earn the certificates along the with a degree, so there'd be no fee. This is new and makes certificates less worth it.)
- Late Graduation Fee: $155
- Return to Graduate: $100
(I imagine this is for second degrees or something. idk)
Other Changes:
- Course extension fee: Raised from $231 to $236
- Residency Wavier Fee: Raised from $2800 to $3192
- NJ Plan credit banking: no longer an option for $100 and I guess you have to pay regular credit banking
- All other fees are the same as 2019-2020 school year

Any word on how the late graduation works? I remember a call with academic advising where they mentioned that the Oct 1st deadline for a December graduation could still be used all the way into November. Never realized it was an official policy, or that it would soon cost!

I don't know for sure what any of these fees mean. All I know is they are new.

This is a key question as I would gladly pay the late graduation fee if it meant the graduation deadline could be extended a few weeks or more and I was close enough to avoid having to wait another 3 months to graduate.

Any word if that certificate fee is PER certificate, or as base fee? If the cost is $100 per certificate, then yeah, definitely not worth it.

Someone should email TESU and ask them to explain the new fees. If anyone does let us know the results.

The cert grad fee probably doesn't applt if you're bundling it with a diploma grad fee -- probably if you're JUST getting the cert.
but that's just speculation.

I emailed TESU on the new (Graduation/Certificate) fees for 2020-2021. Here is their reply:
Hi,
The webpages and forms related to the new fees are still being developed and will be updated soon.
Graduation - Certificates $100 (paid the year of graduation) - This is for students who are only applying for a certificate. If a student applies for a degree and a certificate in the same graduation cycle, the certificate fee not required, only the $298 graduation fee.
Late Graduation Application $155 - This is a fee for a student who requests to graduate after the graduation deadline and approval is at the discretion of the Registrar's office. If the student is approved to apply late, the late graduation application fee is required. This is a by exception approval and the approval is required before the application can move forward for graduation.
Return To Graduate $100 (New for FY21) - This process now has a fee related that is required before the request to return to graduate is reviewed.
