TESU Eliminates SOME Study.com Transfer Credits [unconfirmed]

(12-14-2021, 12:30 PM)Study.com Wrote: Hello, this is Study.com. We wanted to clarify that we still do have an active partnership with TESU, and our courses continue to be accepted for credit at TESU.

We've been in contact with TESU about the confusion here, and they have sent a reminder to their military and veteran departments so that advising is clear going forwards.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this misunderstanding has caused.

Thank you for clearing up the confusion! So, nothing has changed at all and no need for us to scramble with our schedule?

Also, is there a specific reason for this misinformed ill-advised statement that the advisor gave to the OP?

I really hope joshypauly comes back with an explanation.

I don't want to be like one of those guys, but it all feels a little sus.

Have we all been played here as part of one big troll/psyche?

Well, we know TESU isn't dropping Study.com altogether.

If a significant change happens where a degree can't be completed at TESU for a reasonable amount of money/time, people can always pivot to another school.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

OK, everyone some breaking news!!!!!!! The advisor I spoke to earlier this AM just emailed me as well. According to him, the review that was in progress (mentioned in my earlier post) just ended today, and here is the list of courses that are changing. Remember, this is a routine review. They do this for all partners. So this is a risk we all have to take until we've got it locked in.

"The study.com course review just ended and we will no longer accept these courses listed below as of 1/1.  Students can submit transcripts for completed courses through 12/31."

Math 108: Discrete Mathematics
Computer Science 105: Introduction to Operating Systems
Computer Science 111: Programming in C
Computer Science 112: Programming in C++
Computer Science 115: Programming in Java
Computer Science 305: Operating Systems
Computer Science 306: Computer Architecture

So they only changed Computer Science courses.

Operating systems would be the easiest, I would do that in like 1-2 days ASAP.  Discrete Math you can do in 20-40 hrs, not easy but possible.  Computer Arch well if you can score 90% on the final exam, then just turn in anything on the assignment and you should pass.

Well now to complete CS at TESU you would have to do Flat Rate tuition for $4600 or do them over multiple terms for $8500 for the following courses:
Capstone
Cornerstone
Discrete Mathematics
Computer Architecture
Operating Systems
And also pass TECEP Networking.

That would be one hell of a course load.  I guess you could get the books ahead of time and prestudy.

Better just to do WGU I would think than mess with all that.  Or do a Purdue IT degree.

Completely understand your concern, but I am not trolling.  I have been reading the forums for a couple years, but now that my GI Bill is expiring soon, I have moved up my timeline in classes.  I only recently joined yes.

Anyways, still waiting to hear back as to why I was told SDC credits would not be accepted from my advisor.

It looks like the credits for CS will not be acceted.

Well it looks like it’s “a risk we all have to take” whether you’re “locked in” Or not. Since they’re giving everyone till December 31st to submit completed course transcripts.

Does everyone else think I am BS'ing? B'coz I'm not ...

Its the only post I made where I contributed back to the community so I'm a little disappointed.
