TESU Eliminates SOME Study.com Transfer Credits [unconfirmed]

I was informed this morning by my Military Academic Advisor, that TESU will no longer accept transfer credits from Study.com.  I am currently attending for two AAS Computer Studies and Military Tech Leadership and BALS Computer Science.  So this will definitely crimp credit transfers.

Has anyone else been told this and if so, possible path forward?

Maybe it was a regarding a specific course, which happens, vs all Study.com credits.  That is far more common, and likely.

I don't think so. Sophia doesn't have those courses and it would be weird to say it like that if it weren't all SDC vs. all Sophia. 

Either someone is horribly informed (which is possible) or we're all in for a horrible surprise come New Year's.

It's curious that this board is where I get the most updated information concerning TESU and end up contacting TESU to confirm. It's a little frustrating that they don't communicate this information out, but the advisors have access to it and will tell people as they're inquiring. Not the best client support model and I can't imagine how frustrating it is for people who aren't on this board. I guess I've got some serious cramming to do if I want to make my second degree. Good thing it's Discrete Math and Computer Architecture, I hear they're really easy. /s

You can get Discrete Math relatively cheaply from elsewhere. Nowhere near as cheap as SDC, of course, but still more cheaply than TESU itself. Concentrate on Computer Architecture first and foremost. That one isn't easy to find cheaply at all.

Discrete Math isn't too bad.  The "math" part is actually really easy.  The online calculator they allow you to use does all the algebra for you.  You just have to memorize about 10 formulas.  On the test, only about 25% of the questions were math-related.  The hard part is that it goes over a lot of subject areas and it is a lot to learn.  

Computer Architecture I would advise you to score as high as you can on the exam because that assignment is a beast.

I hope this is just a "courses" issue and not a "provider" issue... did Study.com renew all those courses already? I thought they did... let me email Study.com & TESU and we'll find out.

I was trying to figure out the logic of this. If they are going to continue accepting Sophia and (presumably) AP and CLEP credits along with ACE credits from the military, it seems like it is about the provider. 

My first thought was that this might be a means to force students to complete more of their UL course with RA colleges.  I could understand the logic of wanting people to complete more of their UL, degree related coursework with TESU or an RA college. But then, why not simply say that you are only going to accept SDC course as LL from now (or 1/1/22, 3/1/22 or whatever) going forward?  That brings my kind back to this being about SDC.

However regardless of what course you are taking, and your schools standing with ACE or NCCRS we always recommend verifying your transfer plan with your school. Fundamental counting principle
Permutation formula
Combination formula
Binomial Probability Formula
Standard Deviation
Arithmetic Sequence
Geometric series
Matrix: How to add/subtract/multiply

At first, you don't need to memorize them.  Just work backward on problems if you have to as long as you can get the answer.  Don't expect to get every concept the first time.

Jump to chapters 8 & 10 if you need a break. Those chapters are pretty easy and don't require any previous knowledge.
