TESU BA CS & BSBA CIS Goal
#11
Just wanted to leave an update, because I do plan to log in my progress in this thread.
Unfortunately I will have to slow down on my journey for these degrees. I'm thinking of dropping the CIS degree and focusing on only the CS. It should lighten what I need at this stage.

Do you think if I do the edX course to fulfill the sos110, plus keep doing the IBM cert, I could possibly only need to do 1 course, the capstone, at TESU? If I go for the CS degree only.

Yes, that's possible. Bear in mind that you'll have to pay the residency waiver fee if you go that route.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

That's fine. Sounds like I'll be doing that then. Hopefully that works out!

I have a question about an IBM course.
There is a course listed here:
https://www.tesu.edu/degree-completion/edx-credit
IBM Full Stack Cloud Developer. This comes in as 199, and I'm assuming this is not a UL, correct? Not to be confused with IBM Full Stack Software Developer from Coursera.

Yes. Right now, 100 and 200 level courses are LL. 300 and 400 level are UL. When TESU switches to 4-digit codes, instead of 3-digit, it'll probably be 1000/2000 are LL and 3000/4000 are UL. But that's nothing to worry about right now.

Ah! That makes sense.
Interesting how they are turning them into 4 digits; I haven't seen that before.

Thank you.

Haha, yeah, I started to feel that very recently, health-wise. I'm doing too much at once.
I dropped the CIS degree and stretched out the time needed to complete my Coursera certs. I'll only focus on the IBM and Google ones, and do the Salesforce at a later time.
I have four months left on my Sophia membership to complete four courses (maybe 3), which is more than enough time. Business is something I'm not feeling very motivated to do, so I'm kind of relieved to not have to take any of them at Sophia and SDC.
College isn't a problem. Although I'm taking business courses, it's more focused on Microsoft 365 and its programs. Which is something the majority use.

I've been trying to figure out if The American Dream Academy would accept enrollments in courses that are already being worked on previously, outside their program. If so, I could extend the certs even further, lightening my schedule.

I was going to add in the previous post that with the time it takes to do the IBM Full Stack Software Development cert, you could probably knock out 5-10 courses.

You can extend the time it takes to complete the American Dream Academy certs indefinitely as long as you are not inactive for 90 days.

Yeah, the cert does feel a bit lengthy. I was going to attempt to complete the IBM within 3-4 months, and four months is what they recommend, but it will likely take longer than that.

That's great that TADA will extend them indefinitely. What a generous program. My plan was to finish the IBM before the end of August because I'm unsure if California will renew its partnership with Coursera in September.
I believe that IBM cert isn't unlocked on TADA until I finish one of their recommended certs. I only need one more course on my Salesforce cert until completion, so I could perhaps hold off on that until September, just in case. Since that one is listed there. That's IF TADA accepts certs that are already being worked on.
