@hamzasaeed1112, Welcome to the board, it's great you have inquired about a possible path to a desired UMPI degree... Having said that, your post has very basic info. The only thing I would recommend you do is to review the links provided earlier in a response from another member. These will get you started, create a spreadsheet to keep track of your progress and reference the requirements... To give us a better picture of what you need, I would still recommend you provide as many details about your scenario or situation by following the addendum and template: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Focus on one provider, then the other. Otherwise, you're just warring money. So, start with Sophia first, then Study.com later.

member Wrote:Hello, I'm new to this platform. After searching so much on social media seeking guidance on UMPI, I landed on degree forum. I have some questions if you can kindly guide.
I want to get the degree of BA History from UMPI. I'm [international] and I've completed intermediate from the local education board. I have sent mails to UMPI sending my transcripts if they will accept these or not. But they haven't responded for about a week now. Can you guide what should I do here or if you can give the mail of some representative of UMPI who can guide me on this.
Secondly, I want to complete the UMPI degree with Study.com and Sophia under $2000 because I'm short of money and need the degree. I have gone through the Degree Forum's plan for BA History and I still am confused about some things. Like when I start with Sophia, I should do the GEC first, then Major History and then electives?
Can you kindly guide how to follow that scheme like what courses up take first and when to move to study.com. Also when should I move to UMPI and apply for transfer credits?
what courses should I take from UMPI?
I know these are very surface level questions but I really want to complete the degree as soon as possible. Thanks! ?
Please fill in the addendum/template and also review this thread for information, you've asked questions but not provided 'much details' for anyone to try helping you. Basically, you have a puzzle and you need to go through it, each person does things differently, all the pieces are there, go through provider by provider as mentioned...
1) Like when I start with Sophia, I should do the GEC first, then Major History and then electives?
It doesn't matter, everyone starts differently, there are a set of Sophia.org classes on the WIKI, do one at a time until you get them all completed.
2a) Can you kindly guide how to follow that scheme like what courses up take first and when to move to study.com.
Again, doesn't matter the order of classes, do two Sophia.org classes at a time and keep adding another course when one is complete. Do not work on Study.com until the classes for Sophia.org is done.
2b) Also when should I move to UMPI and apply for transfer credits?
Easy, when you have completed all your Sophia.org and your Study.com classes for transfer.
3) what courses should I take from UMPI?
You're in a rush, you need to get an evaluation and transfer of all credits, you then get to know what your remaining credits are, I can't tell you without knowing!

Hello everyone, so I'm confused recently regarding the equivalency of my degree. Currently I'm studying Bachelor of Laws in a College and currently I'm in my 3rd year. I have passed the subjects of English I and II, Political Science I and II, Legal Systems, Philosophy of Law, Sociology, I.T. Skills, Arabic.
However since my degree is based on annual system we don't have credit based system and we don't have a GPA instead we have percentage system. Now UMPI requires it's equivalence, I don't know if that credits would be acceptable or not and if my fee to WES would be wasted. Should I drop these and just apply on High School basis.
Also since my High School is also from Pakistan, it also needs equivalency. But I am considering the option of giving GED exam which would not require an equivalency (correct me if I'm wrong) and saves me money and time because getting equivalencies in Pakistan is a bit hassle.
I want my degree to be started as soon as possible. What should I do in this scenario. Kindly guide. Thanks all ?

The cost of a GED is probably going to be more than an evaluation from WES. Does your high school charge a lot for transcripts? University?
Quote:How much does the GED test cost?
The GED test costs US$80 per subject. There are four subjects on the GED test, so the total for all subjects is US$320.
This is the price for Pakistan. WES costs about $200 for an evaluation. If you do both HS and your current university, I think the charge for WES would be about $300. Unless your transcript fees are exorbitant, it would literally be cheaper to get both university and HS evaluated than it would be to take the GED and only have your HS requirement accounted for.
Forget about the time; you'll need to spend some time gathering credits from Sophia anyway. Enrolling directly for UMPI without any transferable credits is going to result in a rather long and difficult degree.
Aside from English, what languages do you speak, by the way?

Recap and Repeat: Follow the links in post #2, steps in post #5, do the Sophia.org classes you know you haven't taken yet. You need to get everything evaluated, so you can take lesser courses and save energy, money, time in the long run. Do not overthink this, following these steps are your best bet. If you have any further questions, ask when you have applied, completed your evaluation, and completed all the Sophia.org courses on the links...
