Does the Guardian Scholarship count as "membership" for the purposes of changing my application status? I never received a formal response from TESU but whoever worked the "ticket" responded to the helpdesk saying "she has not applied" to Study.com. Perhaps they neglected that I'm copied on the ticket.
Anyway, I am a "Member" just not a paid member. But this should still count, correct?

What are y'all talking about? Should I apply to tesu? Does being on the guardian scholarship waive some kind of fee or something?

It does provide a discount to tuition but as of April 1 we don't know what will happen to the residency waiver. It was 10% off the residency waiver but TESU just upped the residency waiver fee. I have a message in to them and hope to hear back soon. I'm sure quite a few other people will be asking the same questions.

Did you happen to hear back, by any chance?
Thanks,

someone posted in another thread their response from advising indicating that the residency waiver cost would remain the same $1800 for study.com members following the 17/18 increase. So essentially a larger discount off the new increased waiver charge.
I'll edit this post once I find it.

Yes, it is still $1800 for the residency waiver, even after the April 1 change. I think I was one of the ones who posted about it on the other thread. That day there was quite a bit of activity on the forum with a lot of questions so we were all bouncing around trying to check and see who knew what. By the time I had contacted TESU they had had a lot of phone calls and emails already. They confirmed that the tuition is still discounted, the cornerstone waived and the residency waiver fixed at $1800. At that particular point in time they told me they did not know how long the $1800 would be fixed. I went ahead and contacted the bursar's office and paid it just to be safe. I didn't want any surprises.

Smart! Can you confirm if the residency waiver lasts a year from the time you pay it? I read that if you apply for ASBA (or whatever) and pay the residency ... then complete the BSBA within a year, you only owe the second graduation fee.

I don't know about that. I would call the bursar's office and ask. They didn't indicate how that works. I already knew I was applying for graduation within the next month since all I had left was the capstone and I'm taking it right now. So, I didn't delve into too much detail.

So I received the following response from the TESU Bursar about the residency waiver:
The Residency Waiver Fee is $1,800 for the Study.com students at this time. You would need to pay it each time you are ready to request a degree and have not met the Residency requirements for that degree. If you were to request the ASBA degree and then request the BSBA degree a few months later you would need to pay another Residency Waiver Fee for the BSBA. If you are requesting both at the same time you would only pay one fee.
Have a good day.
