TESC Rookie Questions

Yep that's what I was going to do in the first place. Got confused for a bit...

EvanK Wrote:So I cannot simply test out of everything and transfer the remaining 24 credits from a regionally accredited institution? Am I required to take TECEP/TESC courses?

The only reason I couldn't test out of the 24 credits I mentioned earlier is because there is nether a CLEP/DSST exam nor a TESC/TECEP course available for those subjects. I'd like to take CLEP/DSST s much as possible.

I already took a College Composition CLEP filling those requirements.

Sorry, I misread your original post and thought you had applied under the per credit plan which requires 24 credits to be taken with TESC. If you are enrolling under a different plan, there are other options which require you pay an annual enrollment fee.

If you have to complete all these ECON courses anyway, why don't you check into another school? I know Penn State World Campus and Utah State University have ECON degrees that can be completed online and both are fairly CLEP friendly. Penn State takes up to 60 CLEP/DSST credits, and USU is CLEP friendly also (I believe 60 credits). Penn State's Econ degree is awarded by the College of Liberal Arts, which is a college at their University Park campus which has an excellent academic reputation.

I was originally looking into both these degree plans for myself, unitl I went with the Business Degree from TESC.
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Thank you guys for your feedback.

Two more questions:

1. Is it true that TESC only allows 2 transcripts to be sent for evaluation before enrollment?

So far they received 4 of my transcripts, three of which are DSST exams. I was planning on sending more DSSTs (one at a time) before I enroll. Am I allowed to do that? If not, what will happen to the transcripts?

2. I had a TESC-DSST transcript (received on a certain date) pending evaluation in "Transcripts received" section in Online Student Services, but it's not there anymore. While TESC received 3 of my DSST transcripts, only 1 (the last one they received) is showing up in the online student services. Is it normal?

TESC doesn't have a limit to how many transcripts can be evaluated. Multiple transcripts can be included in one evaluation. TESC has a limit of two evaluations before enrollment.

So that means that they will add unlimited amount of DSST/CLEPs to the evaluation before enrollment, even if those CLEP/DSST results are sent one at a time correct?

They will try to wait for all of your transcripts to come in before they do the evaluation. They aren't going to keep adding CLEP/DSST scores as you send them in.

So they wouldn't add transcripts as I send them in even if I was enrolled?
