TESC Humanities Degree Plan - Thoughts?
#1
How does this look as a degree plan for Humanities? I still need 6 UL credits in Humanities to fill it out, but everything else is all testing. Does anyone know if the 3 Ethics courses that I have will all apply or do any of those duplicate? You will also note that there is a lack of History and Public Speaking courses, for a reason LOL! If anyone has any suggestions for "easier" tests or classes that aren't history please let me know!

According to the PLA database, Bioethics is a biology course. You could probably convince TESC, however, to transcribe it as Biomedical Ethics which is a philosophy course or to just code it differently. This would most likely not duplicate Ethics in America or Ethics: Theory and Practice. I do not know if Ethics in America and Ethics: Theory and Practice will duplicate each other.

I listed humanities options here.

B. Humanities 12
TECEP TECHNICAL WRITING 3

One thing that I noticed is that you may want to replace the Technical Writing TECEP with the Technical Writing DSST. I would think that the DSST would be a lot easier than the TECEP, as the DSST is all multiple choice (the essay at the end is not required at TESC) and there will be a lot more study materials available for the DSST. Futhermore, if you take the computerized version of the DSST, you will get your scores back immediately, as opposed to the TECEP, where you have to wait a very long time to hear if you passed or not (I'm currently going through this for the Introduction to News Reporting TECEP!). Just something to consider. Smile Overall, your degree plan looks great -- good luck on your degree!! Smile
