TESC BSBA Course Help!
#11
Yes the book is sufficient for a pass. Make sure you do all practice tests and understand the correct answers to the problems you get wrong.
You could study for four hours if you have marketing or extensive business experience but I wouldn't rush through it too fast.
I can read a page in about two minutes so most of the easier CLEP books take about six to eight hours to read with a few more hours spent taking practice tests.

To make sure that I am not being obtuse, you are saying that the PENN FOSTER "FIN101 - Financial Management" will cover FIN-301 at TESC?

Yes, it transcribes in place of FIN-301, one of the BSBA core requirements. The study guide provided complimented the text (which is provided for free) perfectly, and made the subject much easier to grasp and retain. No proctored exams, self-paced. Loved it!

As it appears on TESC evaluation:

D: Princ of Finance (Completed)
> Complete 3 semester hours of Principles of Finance.
1.. FIN-301... Principles of Finance.... 3.00 CR FIN-301 *NE

...
The Business and Technical Writing course listed on the ACE transcript fulfills the General Education requirement:

B: Mgrl/Bus Communs (Completed)
> Complete 3 semester hours in managerial communications or business communications.
1.. ENG-216... Bus. Letter & Rep. Writin 3.00 CR ENG-216 *NEW *NE

I would not necessarily recommend their Communications course, though. I have heard great things about SL's alternative, which is also less expensive. The assignments for PF's version were a little tedious.

Awesome! Thanks for the info.

I took the PF Financial Mgmt course as well and thoroughly enjoyed the format. Its nice to not have to leave the house to take a proctored exam. Finance is a tough topic but in the PF course you have the time to answer questions on graded assignments and online tests with no time limit to receive a grade.
You will learn finance but in a less pressured environment.

Sweet. I feel like I have wasted the last few weeks with studying for the PRINCIPLES OF FINANCE DSST. I never felt comfortable enought with the material to risk the test. So I am relieved to find that there is another way to get the needed credits.

So now PF will be that much easier. I don't look at anything learned as a waste, even if it is not used for years. Just my 2 cents worth - which today is worth how much?
