Hi everyone,
So I just became aware of this whole DIY degree thing. I applied to TESU and took my first test, Ethics 312 from the institutes. It took about 5.5. hrs but I passed it. Moving forward I'm looking to take another free course if I can. Will cybersecurity 101 (4credit) from TEEX transfer to TESU for my Computer Science requirement?
Thanks in advance!

for what degree are you trying to apply it or gen eds? Can you be more clear as to which requirements.
I saw your eariler thread. For the gen ed. Natural world yes it will count.
But for the bsba intro to computers I believe it wont work that.
Somone correct me if I"m wrong.

Cyber security no longer is allowed for computer science requirements. They used to list "computer security" as an option for the AOS, but no more.
However, I'm not sure about people on old plans before summer of 2019.

So it would work as part of my general ed science right? I need two classes because Im not doing a lab. Thanks!

You need to tell us which degree you're looking at.

It doesnt matter which degree. I think they are talking about the gen ed requiremtn natural world at tesu which is the same gen eds for all tesu degree.

I don't think this will work, because of the course equivalency. It comes in as CAP-295, which is normally a Free Elective unless you're doing something IT-related. You need a course that comes in as COS- or CIS- to work in the GE Science area - but I could be wrong on that, I haven't seen that it works, but I haven't seen that it doesn't either.
I think (but not 100%) that you could use Cybersecurity 301, which last I heard comes in as CIS-244.
You could also consider a Saylor course like CS101: Introduction to Computer Science I, it's only $25 to take the proctored exam (or maybe less now). You can also look at OnlineDegree, they have AS101: Intro to Cosmology, BG101: Organisms & Ecosystems, EV103: Climate Change & the Cryosphere, and CS101: Intro to Programming (Python) that should all work, and is only $9 for a proctored exam (the course is free).
