Alright, a little update from me. I peeked at the courses and information briefly on Monday but I was tired so I decided the take the pre-test for ORGL 3311 the next day...I got a 88 on it. OK, I passed, I guess I can live with that. I skipped all of the lessons and quizzes and went right to work on the two part project. First up, the video, which is no big deal for me. I wrote a speech, put on a suit because I thought that would be funny, and went for it. I turned it in that afternoon and then moved onto the culminating project. I spent a good deal of Tuesday afternoon working on it and got a little tired for the evening. Wednesday late afternoon, I finished the project and turned it in. I had an important day, so I didn't have the time to check until this afternoon. I opened it up and BAM! Made a 100 on my project and a 100 on the video. I went ahead and knocked out the post-test a few minutes ago. I ran out of time on one of the short answers that I wasn't familiar with anyway. I'm hoping I passed it. I'm guessing that I did. I'm going to start 3321 now. I haven't even looked at it yet. I put it off because I am not a great writer.

Question: do I need to finish my first 2 courses before I accelerate?

Yes. You will need to have both classes completed before accelerating. Both of your teachers must email you a completion letter to attach to Tara before she will accelerate you. Pro-tip: Every pre-test essay you do save a copy in a word document. It might just be the same essay question in the post-test. A quick copy paste will save you a ton of time vs. pretty much typing the same thing over.

That is great information to know! This is golden information that makes this forum such a great place.

I'm shooting for completing 6-7 courses this term. I'd rather concentrate my efforts early on and have a possible lighter summer. Hopefully that all works out for me as planned.

Are there any courses that I should look out for ahead of time that could potentially slow me down due to it having more work?

Honestly, the responsiveness of your instructor is the biggest part of accelerating or not. When doing essays, make sure you take 30 minutes to ensure that you hit everything on the rubric. I did not do that with some classes and paid for it, having my essay returned for revisions 3 days later and taking another 3-4 days to grade it again.

Getting 6 classes done is not easy, but is possible. You will undoubtedly have some teachers that grade your stuff in an hour, and others that do not respond to you for days. You will sit idle some days and get extremely frustrated with the process, that's just how it is, unfortunately.

I have the history 2 class from Sophia sitting on the back burner for down times.  Wish I could find a Texas History class that I could sign up for somewhere else as well. That could occupy me while I wait for grading.

Agree with Teejayb - the responsiveness of the teachers is what can kill the acceleration. I had one teacher not respond to me for over a week.

You could always look for a TX CC somewhere that has it (I'm sure they all do).

Is it possible to take the course at TAMUC? Have you checked with TAMUC to see if they have a competency based course in Texas History? If you're in Texas, either the online community college course would do, or take it at TAMUC. Try and complete the required 30+ credits in 3-4 sessions, each session is just $750 at the moment until they decide to make changes.

This is true, stick to the assignment requirements and rubric. Don't stall if possible, do they let you take more than 2 courses at a time? Can you ask to add a course before the final assignments or requirements are graded for the previous ones?

They do have Tx Gov and it is a requirement to graduate. I'm surprised that the advisor allowed someone to go into the core classes without taking that Tx Gov class first. Maybe it was full? That was one of the most tedious classes, but ultimately TAMUC will be the fastest and cheapest option for that class. They will not allow you to take any more than the initial two classes in the semester, and only one accelerated class at a time after that. Your instructor has to give you the all clear before the advisor will even consider putting you in another class. So even if you have passed everything, you'll still need that instructor emailing you confirming everything is complete.
