Can anyone recommend any supplementary study material for the Exercise & Evaluation Planning FEMA? I passed 3 of the exams without looking at the courses (Leadership, Communication, & Decision Making). I also passed the "Introduction to Exercises" on the first try after going through the course. I've taken the EEP exam 3 times though & failed, even after going through the material numerous times. It seems like some of the questions aren't even really covered, so I'm guessing, & apparently I'm guessing wrong. For example, "When should evaluators receive the EEGs?". I went back, & didn't see that even covered in the course. I would think the day before the exercises, when they are receiving training on how to do the evaluations. So, any advice on other study material for that exam? Thanks!

The answers are all in the class. Maybe there is a file you have not checked? Some of the classes have a TON of files.

I used the interactive web based course on the top right of this page: IS-130: Exercise Evaluation and Improvement Planning | FEMA - Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Course as well as the Volume III pdf file.

The provided study guide is ample material. The question listed above is found in Lesson 3, "Exercise and Evaluation and Improvement Planning", on the slides titled "Training Evaluators" and "Training Evaluators (continued)," about 2/3 of the way through the lesson. Some of the answers may seem a little vague or poorly worded, but everything needed is included in the guide.

I finally passed the exam! One of the PDFs on the FEMA website turned out to be more useful than the course itself.
At this point I now have the following credits:
IS-120.a An Introduction to Exercises + co-req - 1cr
IS-240.a Leadership & Influence - 1cr
IS-241.a Decision Making and Problem Solving - 1cr
IS-242.a Effective Communication - 1cr
IS-244.b Developing and Managing Volunteers - 0cr *
---------------------------------------------------------------
Total new: 4 cr.
Previous: 87 cr
New total: 91 cr
* Counts towards FEMA's professional development series, which I plan to complete, & its good since I have non-profit experience.
I also started in on the TEEX courses. I tested out on the pre-qualification exam for AWR-175-W Information Security for Everyone. However, if I understand this correctly, I still need to do AWR-174-W Cyber Ethics & AWR-168-W Cyber Law and White Collar Crime in order to receive the 2 credits for college. I plan to finish all 3 tracks, which I believe will leave me at 97 credits.
On top of that, I requested a SkillsPort login ID from the staffing agency I'm with, & plan to take some of their courses. Have any civilians here taken their courses for college credit? I understand the tests have to be proctored at an Army base. What is the cost to take the exam? Also, any recommendations on classes? I was thinking of taking .NET or C# course. I need to take a look at what the pre-requisites are though.
I'm excited to be working on the bachelors degree again! I'm still not sure which school I'll be going to. Being unemployed for so long (6 months) though is driving me bonkers! I really needed something productive to be doing other than checking job ads every five minutes.

You also need to have an average of at least 80%. I believe they average all of your grades for the 3 courses to see if you have at least an 80%.

That's on the TEEX courses, correct? I need to go back in & figure out how to even see what percentage I got.

I've heard people talking about using these for electives, is there a degree in Emergency Management or something like that you can get with these and CLEPs?

TESC has an AAS in Environmental, Safety, and Security Technologies and a BS in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. FEMAs can be used in the area of study of the AAS and as area of study electives in the BS. TESC will allow up to 32 credits from FEMA.
